Across the Mississippi to Washington MO

The day started on the North bank of the Ohio, in the beautifully renovated red brick town of Madison. It had been an important center for my friend Susan Cutshaw, growing up in Kentucky, and I spent a little time documenting what it looks like now. Rode back up to join US 50 again, and trundled West through corn and soybean fields to St Louis. I arrived at the peak of rush hour, facing the sun and condemned to the tangle of freeways that cross the Mississippi and encircle the city. Somehow I made it out on the other side, and drove up to Washington on the Missouri for the night.
