We left Mitchell, SD, and drove east to I-29. Then it was south through Iowa, with lots of corn and soybeans. They've had a lot of rain and many of the crops are washed out. What a shame. I did see a deer in a bean field, but it looked rather bored, too. We're in Missouri, at St. Joseph, and will pass through Kansas City before turning east toward St. Louis tomorrow. We may stop at the arch in St. Louis, or we may feel too strongly the pull of home. Anyway, we hope to be home on Thursday evening.... read more
