Oh man oh man
What a weekend! Blues, blues and more blues. This was our kind of place. The down and dirty blues. Enjoyed the street musicians as well. Clarksdale looks isolated on the surface but scratch a little and you find the real truth. We plan to go back later in the summer.

Very interesting!
Dave and MJ, Dave and MJ, Nice coverage of Clarksdale. I was not aware of its music history. And obviously, Dave is a music buff...the photos tell it all. I really envy folks who can play lovely guitar....I enjoy the instrument from the days of calypso and "Jamaica Farewell".. Thanks for the article! Very relaxing read!

Clarksdale is unique
Thanks for coming along. It is rural America and you have to know what to expect when you get there or you might be disappointed. We both love music and blues in particular. We hope to go back later in the summer. Hope you make it there some day.

So cool!
I love your affinity for music, especially the blues. In the USA, there must be so many little juke joints that just ooze with such raw talent. Finding them is like a treasure hunt!! I hope to someday make it to those museums.

So cool
The US is full of music venues small and large. Clarksdale is unique and it is the real deal. We love chasing the blues. Clarksdale is our kind of place. You will love it. Come on down.

Too much blues is barely enough
Great post. We will just have to come back to the USA one day. We did see and hear Watermelon Slim in New Orleans. Bought a CD which is fine.

Fantastic that you caught Watermelon Slim in NOLA. He has a great deal of talent and a good sense of humor.

Missing Morgan...
I too would have been gutted to have missed Morgan Freeman - I'd have had the blues... Great to see you guys following your love of music.

Missing Morgan
Yes it was a sad day and the blues is what we had. It was not meant to be. Hopefully our paths will cross another time.
