May 26th- boarded the plane in Hong Kong to take the long flight home to the USA... Kicked off that weekend by attending the Toots for Tuft Charity Golf Tournament. Such a great time to raise money for my dear, sweet friend who is so missed, Marc Jackson. It was so nice to see Marc's family who are AMAZING! and to catch up with my co- workers and friends. The dynamic foursome was my sister Debbie, my friend Kristen and my co- worker and friend Meg. We were the only all girl foursome- Girl Power which is why we won last place- team to improve for next year- LOL. I was lucky that night and walked away with Milan Lucic's autographed hockey stick :) .. The trip was so much fun spending time with my family ... read more

Jan 9th, left somewhat sunny but warm ( average 58- 64 degrees F) for my home, Boston. The main reason for going home was to surpise my wonderful, amazing and beautiful niece, Brooke for her 18th Birthday. I am also honored to be Brooke's godmother so I wanted to make sure I was there for one of her big birthdays- Welcome to being an Adult Brooke. I was in Boston from Jan 9- 25th, unfortunately just like most trips home didn't have much R and R time it was mixed with having to log in or travel into Boston to work in our US office :( ... The first week home, the weather was actually warm for New England in Jan - ( 30 to 40 degrees F).. Was nice being able to spend time with ... read more

August 11th, I traveled back home for a 2 week visit to Scituate/Boston MA. Time went by way too fast..... I was able to cram a lot in though and wish I had more time to see everyone... The weather was beautiful for August, mostly clear/sunny and low humidity days- can't ask for anything better. The first week home, I got to spend a special day with my wonderful niece Mikaela.. I wasn't home for her birthday in July so we did a girl's day of shopping and lunch, she is such a joy to be around and we shared the pains of the being the oldest in the family :) ... Her sister Maddie is too much- she is such a sassy little thing and keeps me in stitches and her partner in crime is ... read more

We are definitely on our way home now. As we head out along the main Boston harbor waterfront, we see an enormous commotion in front of us and find that someone (without informing us) has in our honor brought out the USS Constitution herself. She fires a full broadside for us ... or possibly at us ... as we depart ... :-) We read later that this is the first time that the USS Constitution has sailed under her own power since 1881. We time our departure so that we pass through the main outer approach to Boston Harbor and past Boston Lighthouse as the tide is turning. The beautiful sunny weather continues and Massachusetts Bay continues to be uncharacteristically calm. Once again in Scituate, we pick up a mooring from the Cedar Point Launch and ... read more

The weather is glorious. Sunny. In the 80’s during the day and the 60’s at night. The forecast says that this weather will last. We continue “up the coast” ... but this in fact means that we must run right across the mouth of Cape Cod Bay to the “mainland”. (The canal means that Cape Cod is now technically an island!) We are heading for Scituate. The water is pretty lumpy as we head out into the bay, probably because the tide is rushing in all the way around the tip of Cape Cod and into the harbor. The seas quieten down as we proceed across the mouth of the bay to Scituate. They are benign by the time we arrive in early afternoon. On past visits to Scituate, we have always bought dock-space at the ... read more
A Few of Scituate's Fishing Boats

Scituate is just superbly located. We always stop here on our outbound run to Boston or Salem, and again on the way back. Unusually for marinas in New England, the Cole Parkway Marina is run by the harbormaster. Being “the government”, the management of the marina has several odd policies. There is not much transient dock-space here, so it is advisable to call ahead. They will say neither “yea” nor “nay” but will note your name on a list of people who have requested dock-space. We have not the slightest idea what purpose this serves. In fact, when we arrive, they have always found us a space, but it has sometimes been in a slip that is supposedly reserved for boats that are towed into port. The slips are short and space is tight. You will ... read more
