The flowers are beautiful and I alway love seeing the neighbor's horses out in the corral. The clouds were threatening. Went to dinner with two friends that I worked with before moving to Florida. I caught up with Heather and Katy on their lives and their kids. The oldest ones are almost full-grown and I remember them when they were babies and even Heather before she was married. We has some fun times together then. When I got home Jess made me a drink which practically knocked me out, it was so strong. We started but never finished a game of Mexican Train. Thursday was my last day with the kids and grandkids. Mish and the boys came over to say good-bye. It was so awesome spending two full weeks with my awesome family! I have ... read more

There are mushrooms growing every and they all popped up like overnight. Cicada killer wasps everywhere and I killed this one as he dove into his hole with a Cicada. Pool days and nights with the little ones has been so much fun. It nice to have little ones under feet. Drove to Pawtucket to visit my cousin Carol Perrault. She has some amazing Bearded Dragons who she took out a feed worms to when I was there. I went to Stephen's Corner Cemetery to pay my respects to my paternal grandparents, but could not locate their plot. Grandma France and Grandpa Chet Quimby. I did find the Witherell/Cash relationship and Myrtle Witherell, who I remember as a child. Directly across the street was the farm, where as kids we would ride a bicycles and pick ... read more

We had a great holiday weekend. On Monday Jess and I went down to visit my old neighbor, Maggie Silva. Maggie makes and teaches how to make Nantucket Baskets. She has gardens all around her home and showed us around her 5 acre property. Jess and I headed down to the Cape and had a Seafood Lunch, New England Clam Chowder and Stuffed Quahogs for me! I also visited the horse ranch behind us and connected with Kathie Davenport and her grandson Logan. We could have talked all afternoon about our lives, family and travels we've done or are planing to do. It's so nice visiting and catching up with old friends. This trip continues to be about family and friends.... read more

Big party planned for later today! I got to spend time with my two grandson, Jonathan and Connor and their girlfriends, Hannah and Jillian. They are Mish and Stephen's 2 sons. Jonathan is attending Mass Maritime Academy in Onset and Connor will be a senior at West Bridgewater High. Sammi's boyfriend is Billy and she will also be a senior this year at Bristol Plymouth Tech. Billy has joined the Marines and waiting for his date to report. We had our usual family barbecue with hotdogs and hamburgers, potato salad and chips. Our entertainment included corn hole games, the pool, water gun fights and a campfire. We had S'Mores, Truffle, Brownies and Birthday Cake for dessert. Mish's birthday is Wednesday. Keith's grandkids, Kaylee and Carter are here with him and Jess for the summer. The small ... read more

The Holiday weekend has started although it really doesn't feel like a holiday. Everything has changed because of the Coronavirus. We are having a family cookout Sunday Afternoon, so we went to Costco with our masks for all the fixings. In the morning we took the kids to the playground and in the afternoon we were in the pool. We played Scrabble after the pool and I won. I got some great letters and Jess got all vowels. She took revenge on me in the Train game that night and beat me up pretty badly. She won 9 out of 13 games and won with 176 points to my 588 (low score wins). OOCH!... read more

I always loved this big old tree

Got up early and walked my old route I used to walk for years here. There has been a lot of changes, forests gone and new houses and street have taken their place, but there is a lot that has not. Old farms and same neighbors are still around. Jess and I played Scrabble out by the pool, while they kids swam. It got really cool with a damp wind blowing late afternoon and we all had to get warm clothes on. When we went in for the day, Keith made all of us girls Coconut Rum Breezes (and not just one - ha ha). Samantha Drass (they call her Dill) is my granddaughter, Samantha Drass's (we call her Sammi Lou) sister-in-law. Dill made Chicken Pot Pie for dinner and it was delicious. Good News - All the lights went off on the dash of my car during the cool of the night and I was able to leave Maryland and head to Massachusetts. I left around 7:30 and drove through Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut and finally arrived in Massachusetts a little after 4pm. There was lots of traffic in NY and when I got to MA a lot of cars seemed to be headed to Cape Cod for the Holiday weekend. Jessie was home to greet me, along with Carter, Kaylee, Sammi Lou and Connor. Great to be here where I spent so many years. Jess is like my daughter, we lived in the same house for a lot of years. I was here for the birth of Sammi Lou and Brooke Doo. We don't ... read more

In less than an hour, I'll be leaving from Providence to Baltimore on the first leg of our trip to Alaska. Dave is not going this time - he really doesn't like to fly. I am taking my 8 year-old granddaughter, Rachel to Alaska to spend three weeks with her Aunt Suzie and three cousins there. We haven't seen the girls for more than two years, so we are extremely excited. We are hoping to see all kinds of wildlife, glaciers, and wonderful scenery. Expect some pictures and videos! Rachel's mom, Michelle is a little nervous, having her baby so far from home, but I think it will be adventure Rachel remember for the rest of her life. We'll keep you updated on our activities - Bon Voyage!... read more
