In less than an hour, I'll be leaving from Providence to Baltimore on the first leg of our trip to Alaska. Dave is not going this time - he really doesn't like to fly. I am taking my 8 year-old granddaughter, Rachel to Alaska to spend three weeks with her Aunt Suzie and three cousins there. We haven't seen the girls for more than two years, so we are extremely excited. We are hoping to see all kinds of wildlife, glaciers, and wonderful scenery. Expect some pictures and videos! Rachel's mom, Michelle is a little nervous, having her baby so far from home, but I think it will be adventure Rachel remember for the rest of her life. We'll keep you updated on our activities - Bon Voyage!... read more

Last time we shovel this winter

One last breakfast at MacDonald’s (the only place open at 6 am in this service) area and we are two hours from home as we drive east on the Mass Turnpike. It was a hazy, warm morning in the Berkshires but the fog soon burned off. Our trip home took no time at all and before 9 am we were home and being welcomed by Dave’s daughter, Jessica and our two granddaughters, Samantha and Brooke. We came home to a clean house, a well-groomed lawn and a crystal clear pool. How nice it is to be home Today was our last day on the road, after almost two months of traveling to the wilds of Alaska and back. We have reached the end of our journey and what a trip it has been! This adventure of ... read more

Hi Friends and Family, Dave and I are heading out again. This time we are driving to Alaska, leaving Raynham on May 16. We are really excited about our 2-month trip to the "Last Frontier". We will be driving through Buffalo, Chicago and on up into North Dakota before crossing into Canada. We are leaving the fifth-wheel at home and taking the van once again. For this trip though, we have bought a tent that attaches to the back of the van and becomes part of it. Instead of sitting in the van at night to watch movies, we will be in our spacious 10X10 tent. We will travel out the northern route through Regina, Edmonton, Dawson Creek, Watson Lake, Dawson City and hopefully through "Top of the World Highway" and into Chicken, Alaska. We need ... read more

Dave and I left Maryland around 8:30 am. We drove over the the Delaware Memorial Bridge, into Pennsylvania, up the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey, into New York and over the Tapanzee Bridge. We then went through Connecticut, into Rhode Island, and finally into Massachusetts. We drove over the Braga Bridge in Fall River, up Route 24 and onto Route 44 and then we arrived home at about 4:45 pm. It was great to be home. We were met by Jessica, Keith, Sammantha and Brooke. Jessie had cleaned our house for us and also cooked supper for us. What a GREAT daughter! Footnote: Dave went to the doctor's Tuesday morning and then went to the hospital for an ultrasound. They found a blood clot in his leg and admitted him to the hospital immediately. As ... read more
