The bar you see from the Cheers opening every show Another short flight from Washington to Boston and I arrived to more bitingly cold temperatures. Getting in, in the evening, and it was time to check in to a hostel/hotel that didn't have my booking, once sorted I was out exploring the streets. Just trying to familiarise myself with the city, although I might have walked down a few ill-advised streets.
While in Boston I checked out Fenway Park, the home of the famous Boston Red Sox and went on a tour of the stadium, although it was a little annoying they were digging up the surface and some areas we weren't able to access. Its supposedly the smallest playing surface in the league and it looked rather small. Flanked with much baseball history its the home of Babe Ruth, before his move to the Yankees, for which the dreaded curse of the Bambino eventuated. Fenway Park has the Green Monster wall and in the distance is the Citgo sign, which are all part of baseball folklore. It was great learning about it all and seeing the stadium and the like.
