Hey everyone! I must apologize again for the delay again in updating this. The more family we saw, the harder it was to drag ourselves away to work on this! So, we last left you off in New Orleans, the night before we left. One of Kim and Brian’s friends came over to make us dinner. We had the most amazing meal, Pakistani and all vegan, and mostly things we haven’t tried before. It was so fantastic, both Ang and I thought we might become vegan afterwards, just because it was so good. It was a wonderful evening filled with great food and even better conversation. OK, this is definitely not worth your time, let me warn you. I'm new to blogging and giving this a test run while sitting in the Toyota service area having an oil change. Just one of the many fun chores to take care of before we start on our 3-week trip to China. You probably don't need to read about laundry, canceling the paper, holding the mail, cleaning out the fridge and garden, and shopping for gifts... Perhaps the only preparation unique to this trip was our quest for new or new-looking $1 and $5 bills to be used as tips along the way for everyone from tour guides to bus driver to hotel maids. Hey Everyone! So tomorrow's the big day! We're getting pretty excited! We're in last minute prep stage, running last minute errands, looking for a new camp stove, and visiting some relatives before packing the car and hopefully getting a good night's sleep. Thanks to Jeff and Marie for the laptop bag and the tarp, and thanks to Josh and Vicky for the video camera. We're planning on leaving about 9 am tomorrow, and will be on the road for about 6 hours before we get to Montreal. Our plan is to doing some walking around the city before going out for a nice dinner and hitting the town for a bit. This will probably be our last taste of city life and culture before we go "into the wild". In other words... camping for at least ... read more
