Isle au Haut On Monday, we decided to get out early and ride the mail boat to Isle au Haut. We drove to Stonington to ride the boat, but when we got there the harbor was socked in with pea soup fog. Byrd and I still wanted to go, but Karen was reluctant to go in the fog. The girl in the ticket booth said it was supposed to clear, but gave us no guarantee. Byrd and I decided to go and we convinced Karen to join us, so we all bought tickets. As we boarded the boat with the dozen other hardy souls, the fog began to clear and it was completely gone by the time we were a mile outside the harbor.
