Week 2
Ok, so now we've been here over a week and I think the Jet lag has finally disappeared, although we are still waking up at 7.30 😞...uuurrg!
This week has been just as amazing as the first, we were lucky enough to be able to borrow Claire and Ian's bikes so we could cycle around the area and explore, we've cycled into Brunswick main town, which was exhausting considering we went the wrong way at first and added on a extra 40mins onto our trip, muppets, I know! But it was worth it as we stopped for some Dairy-free, Coconut ice cream (wow btw folks, definitely worth trying, its delish) and some of the best fruit smoothies we have ever had, thanks to 'The Little Dog Coffee Shop', if you ever get a chance, id recommend it, awesome atmosphere, very, very friendly staff and as I said munchie smoothies! We both quite like Brunswick main town, has everything you need there and then, the architecture of the buildings is cool, reminds me of the houses I build in 'The Sims', its a great wee place for cycling or roller blading, especially the college campus.
We also took a
cycle trip down Orr's Island (was hellish, lots of hills, hard work but again, worth it) and Baileys Island, all the way down to Lands end (I think every country must have a Lands end). The scenery was nice along the way and the view of the ocean from Lands end was spectacular, presides we got to go for a wee paddle and stop off at Cooks Restaurant for a beer and Margaritas, I swear to god that all American cocktails have half the bottle of alcohol in them, they're super strong, they do not use measuring devices, its like 5/ 6 shots in each cocktail..... =)
This week was also the week we got to go White Water Rafting!!!!, wow, omg!, so much fun, we seriously could just do it over and over and over again. This is something I had been wanting to do ever since I was a little girl, and even though Simon had already experienced and loved White Water Sledging he was just as keen as me to do the rafting. We are already planning to do the slightly harder rafting next time we come over.....'Death River' version, the difference is that instead of type
3 to 5 rapids spread out along the river this is CONTINUOUS type 3 - 5 rapids...XTREME! 😊
Before we had Claire's family Lobster bake we managed to sneak in a day of Sunbathing and Kayaking which was needed after the actioned pack week we had had so far. Saturday was the Lobster Bake.....I'm officially addicted to corn on the cob and Lobster!... it was yummy! and Claire's family are so nice, easy to chat to and fun people to be around, there's heaps of them as well, and i though Simon's & my family were big 😉
Each day of the week has been awesome, and each day was & is super sunny,....Life is good
