My first experience at rowing a dinghy fills me with faith in the compass of life. Quite a few tries were needed to balance the oars with even strokes but on a foggy day, there is nothing like the solitude of Toddy Pond. Finally got the rhythm and rowed past a gaggle of wood ducks lined up as if they were on parade.
