09/25/2011 Revisited Acadia National Park since the fog has lifted for today. We will be able to see Cadillac Mountain, Which is the first land in the U.S. that sunrise touches, even though it is only around 1600 ft. above sea level. Even though it was sunny in Bar Harbor, whale watching was cancelled due to fog 22 -25 miles off shore.
09/24/2011 Stayed over extra day to try whale watching again. Yeah!! we are going. We went out on a jet powered catamaran, the Atlanticat, saw harbor porpoises, seals, many sea birds, and what they called a teenage humpback whale(which you will see was almost impossible to get pictures).
09/27/2011 Travel day. Overnight in Bristol, NH.
09/28/2011 Travel day to Metcalf Acres Campground in Schroon Lake, NY. Traveled scenic hwy in the dark, it was beautiful. 348 mi. day, set up in dark, and had hamburger helper at 10:00 PM.
09/29/2011 Raining as we leave for Frost Ridge C G in Leroy, NY.
We made it in before dark, so Leta made some great chicken and rice for dinner.
09/30/2011 Raining again, but we are determined to go to Niagara Falls. Not a very good picture day, and Barbara and I decided we did not want to get wet and cold, so we chose not to get out of the truck.
10/01/2011 Staying at Pa Dutch C G in Manheim, Pa. Raining again, but we did an indoor tour of Cornwall Iron Furnace.. Went to Wal-Mart and I fried pork chops, made rice and gravy, and green beans for dinner.
