We headed out from Blacksburg a little after 10:00 this morning. Drove about 265 miles today; Rt 460 into West Virginia, I-77 N to I-64 W to Morehead, Kentucky. It was a beautiful drive through the mountains, and there was very little traffic.

We drove into Daniel Boone National Forest about 8 miles off of I-64 and drove up to the ranger station at Twin Knobs Campground even though the sign at the entrance said the campground was full. The ranger said, "Oh yeah, we have plenty of sites. We just didn't change the sign." We got a great site near the lake.

The plan is to head to Mammouth Caves tomorrow.

And by that I meant the namesake of the park, not John and Jim... in case there was any confusion.
