One more fair before the summer ends!!

Closing out with one final "HOORAY" for the fairs for this summer goes to the INDIANA STATE FAIR 2014.

What's not to like about this state fair? Interesting grub to taste like a cheeseburger set between two whole Krispy Crème Glazed doughnuts, Fried Milky Way Bars, Fried Twinkies, Giant Amish Doughnuts and Shaved Icee's just to name a few treats. (All items mentioned received a thumbs up with only one complaint towards the fried Twinkie: not cooked all the way through). Tuesdays are known as $2.00 taste days where you can taste food for $2.00, a win for all foodie addicts. There is a big building devoted to Indiana's dairy farmers with the yummiest and creamiest looking ice cream I have seen. Unfortunately, I was too stuff to take part in tasting that.

The rides were typical of any fair and costing $1.75 per ticket most rides were 3-4 tickets. My niece and daughter bravely went on one which whirled them to music and sent them soaring above the fair grounds. They loved it! The livestock included cows, horses and llama's. All the owners we ran into were super nice and friendly towards having their animals petted and pictures taken...SUPER NICE!!

Free Entertainment varied from watching amateur bike tricks to 4H clog dancing, watching a giant block of cheddar cheese being carved into a sculpture. Booths for things like Henna Tattoo's, wood carving plaques, toys are around for purchase.

Tips:

$5.00 cash for parking & comfy shoes you don't mind dirt getting on, look up special priced days such as Military Days, Family day etc.
