Welcome to Indiana!Well after much rushing around, we finally were on our way! Destination: Chicago-ish. The first couple hours of our trip were very uneventful. Surprising for northwest Ohio I'm sure! Then we had a few moments of excitement:
Yup, that's the sign we were entering Indiana. Woohoo! At least we were making progress. North Indiana looked a lot like, well, a lot of Ohio. Acres upon acres of farmland. I snapped a picture of a device for watering large areas of crops. (You would think growing up on a farm I would know what it's called, buuut I don't.)
But I was thinking maybe we could hook one of these up to the back of the car and haul it back for Logan. I'm sure he could use it for his beans 😉
Other than that, we didn't see much of anything. As we grew closer to Chicago we came across quite a bit of cloud cover, very low cloud cover. You can really see it in the picture with the bridge. Between that and finally starting to see some signs of life, we missed the "Welcome to Illinois" sign. Luckily we were also entering Chicago! Since I also

Chicago Skyline missed the "Welcome to Chicago" sign, I settled with the Chicago Skyway Toll Bridge sign instead. Once we got through there, we were able to see Chicago. I got a couple snapshots of the skyline and couldn't get a good one of the Willis (Sears) Tower, the darn cloud was in the way.
As if we weren't expecting it, traffic was a pain, people drive like maniacs. We made it through the worst part and finally to the hotel.
Highlight of the day
Stopped at a service station to get some gas and food. While ordering, we asked for a chicken nugget meal but we're told they no longer offer that particular meal. David, being the witty man he is, asks, Do you have fries? Worker's response, Yes. Do you have drinks? Yes. Um, aren't those the requirements of a meal?
Saturday we are set to get to the Minneapolis area. I wonder what Wisconsin and Minnesota will offer us on the way!
