Had some tears this morning saying goodbye to our dog, Kirby. He has very little time left, so it will probably be the last time I see him. Didn't leave quit as early as we had hoped (my fault) but we were on the road by 6:50 or so.

Originally we had planned on driving to St. Louis and calling it a day, but both of us really want to see Nashville so we drove a little farther.

12 HOURS LATER........ and we're only in Illinois! Doesn't quit seem right... but we went through Iowa and Missouri to get here so we must have gone far.

My dad only honked at two other drivers so far (guess that's where I get my road rage from) At one point he was going around a slower driver and when they were going to change lanes and go in front of us he started yelling at them (from inside the car) like they were some kind of animal, "NO! NO! DON'T YOU DARE! GET BACK! NO, NO NO!!" as he waved his hands at them... and surprisingly they listened.

As we drive farther south, of course it continues to get warmer. My dad was thrilled when he saw someone mowing grass... unheard of in March to a Minnesotan!!

My dad has been a real trooper, driving 10 of the 12 hours today. I have the WORST cold.... sneezing, coughing, stuffed up.. blah. It sucks. I didn't last long driving before I felt like passing out. So that means we listened to country and oldies most of the trip 😊

Heading out early tomorrow to explore Nashville - hopefully see the Grand Ole Opry.
