We had a 2 day trolley bus pass and used day 1 for the scenic route and day 2 for downtown shopping and the historic route. All the drivers are characters and have a good line in patter whilst informing you of the points of interest. The scenic route covered the diamond head are which actually drives into the centre of the extinct volcano. You can walk to the top of the crater but it is a high security military base and like all American sensitive areas it can feel a bit intimidating so we stayed on the bus.

Not many survivors still alive today but they were there marching at the front or as passengers in cars.
