Tropical Palms
We'll Be Back! That's our mission now.....to go home. We left Tropical Palms this morning @ 9:30. It was sad to see it fade in our rear view mirror. We had such a wonderful stay there over these past four months. Some of our good friends came to see us off as Cory hooked up the car. Mist in our eyes as we had to say good-bye to each one of them. We know it is only for several months before we are back together again. It isn't really "good-bye".....instead it's just "so long for now until we meet again". But we will miss everyone. Stay healthy and happy - one and all.
As we rounded the corner to drive out of our park, there they were! Waiting and watching for us to drive past. Yes, Sam & Sandy were right there to give us our final wave good-bye. We are going to miss them so much. Waaaaaa, Bawl! And another good-bye to the homeless man on the corner. We wish for you a good fortune to come your way.
Yesterday, was Sandy's Birthday. We celebrated it together at an Olive Garden. It was festive when the staff brought her a special
So long Sam & Sandy
We miss you already dessert while singing loudly. We all joined in. I can't carry a tune but I'm loud. We followed this Birthday Banquet by going to the movies. Saw "Unforgettable". It was good but just a one-timer.
If any of you know where there is a carnival in Florida...let me know. I think I told you I want to take Sandy there so the "age guesser barker" can try and guess her age. We will win every prize he has!! I just have to find a Carnival. I may have to give her part of the prizes but that's okay.
We checked our 2017 bucket list and found we (our foursome & Lulu) had done just about everything on it. Didn't make it to Monkey Island so that will be added to the 2018 list. I'm sure Sam will be able to come up with some fun adventures to add to this future list. Boy, we had such good times and shared so many laughs. I don't want to rush time (not at my age) but it will be so good when we are together again.
Right now (7:00 PM) we are relaxing in our RV in a Wal-Mart
parking lot, exit 94 off of I-95 (close to a Savannah, Georgia exit in a town called Pembroke). We had wanted to go to a KOA at exit 87 but it was full...rats. So, we just continued on but not a lot of campgrounds to choose from. Wal-Mart works. We got here at 5:00. We are parked on a slant but not that bad....not falling out of the door, anyway. We walked the parking lot to go to a Wendy's. That was tasty. Turned the inverter on so we able to watch TV, run our fan and charge my IPad. Life is good.
Cory has done a fine job getting us this far. With all the good wishes from all of our friends on Facebook, we are hoping for the best on the rest of our journey. It is not fun to have "issues" with the RV when traveling. Been there: Done that. Lulu gets so anxious and I get so nauseous. Cory isn't happy but he just deals with it and manages to get us through whatever crisis comes up. God love him!
The traffic traveling hasn't been too bad. Last year, I read my diary and
saw we were stuck in non-moving traffic for over 2 hours on I-75. That was bad. It was HOT, too. When we entered Georgia, we saw a lot of smoke from brush fires. It was across the Highway but not affecting visibility. Whew! Price of diesel keeps going up as we head North...$2.83/gal.at the last sign I saw. Should come down some as we get into the Carolina's. Cory decided he's going to stay on I-95 to go home. Road is good and traffic fine (so far). He probably wishes I would shut myself in the bedroom as we journey. Nope.....I'm right there next to him "helping" him to drive. We've had only a couple exchanges because of my assistance. Men!
While traveling now, I shall write more blogs that I missed doing. Cory hopes that keeps me distracted and done with the driving assistant role. I'll be back-tracking about our final flings at Tropical Palms. I ran out of time and energy to do them at the time so stay with us as I post them in the future. Lots of photos to see. Hey, I heard that!
So, dear family and friends......stay in your seats. We
have many more miles to travel. Time will go fast just by being with all of you. Lulu has taken up singing and it's beginning to drive us crazy. She may end up in the bedroom with the door closed! She wants so much to help Cory with some of the driving but she's so limited without any hands or arms. She's so sweet, though.
Thank you everyone for all your good wishes for our safe travels. We need everyone of of them and appreciate them all. Just like we appreciate all of you. You are the best! Bon Voyage!
