I barely moved as Ken got up, kissed me goodbye and left for the airport. I slept until 7:30. When I got up Jason and Amy were up packing to head back to Las Vegas. Ugh! One minute we are all together, the next minute I am saying goodbye as everyone heads in different directions. I get that blue feeling. Time to remind myself how blessed I am. I send Jason and Amy off with some Lemon pound cake, hugs and say goodbye. Justen gets up and we have coffee together before he takes a shower and heads to work. Hugs to him too! What a great Birthday! Now I am alone in my own house. I can't remember the last time this has happened. I did some laundry and cleaning so Justen won't have to ... read more

September 9-12 The week went well. I was busy at work which is good. Pleasant, nice colleagues; it's really hard to complain...I love the work too. Each evening I would have a light dinner (yogurt or cheese/crackers and a glass of wine). One night I had to complete a required annual HIPPA training course on line for my consulting company. It was extra long and I was up later than I anticipated. I hate those things. I have taken so many over the years. I talk to Ken each night. We miss spending our evenings together. He is keeping busy in Asheville at the RV campground. He is driving down on Wednesday to Atlanta and will stay in the hotel with me. On Thursday evening we fly back home to Tucson for 9 days! Can't wait!!! ... read more

We had our coffee inside and took a walk around the campground afterwards. I didn't want to walk down in the woods because of all of the spider webs. I packed for the week. I am flying to Atlanta to work on site this week. Ken dropped me off at the Asheville Regional airport. What a cute little airport. I am literally at my gate in 5 minutes. They have wooden rocking chairs near the windows. I bought a turkey sandwich and water for lunch/dinner. I'm flying on a comfortable 80 passenger regional jet. I sat next to a lady who must have had garlic last night. Probably pay back for all the times I have eaten garlic...I love garlic! She is going to Uruguay for a two week vacation. She is meeting her tour group ... read more

It’s Saturday morning and Drew and I are supposed to be on our way to the airport. Well we’re running late, everything is on hold, and to top it off it’s 8:30 am and our flight just left Orlando to Atlanta. Hmmmm It’s going to be a hectic day. Kirsten hurries me into the shower and keeps everything moving along. You know those Darden mangers they don’t let any project slip. It’s now 10:30 am, Drew is here and Kirsten and Lori are taking us to the airport. Drew’s nervous, I’m nervous, Kirsten & Lori are smiling from ear to ear. We jump out at departing flights and hugs & kisses are exchanged. Drew & I walk up top the Delta counter. We check in and as usual the agent tells us how bad it is. ... read more

We spent the weekend packing up the apartment. Our last night there will be Wednesday night. I will still be working at Children's in Atlanta, but begin working remotely 50% of the time next week. We will be staying in our RV in Stone Mountain Park (outside of Atlanta) just for a few nights, and then heading to North Carolina. I have really enjoyed my year here. The apartment wasn't perfect but we made it home. It was very convenient; I liked the experience of living 'downtown', walking to Piedmont Park, restaurants, museums. Ken didn't enjoy it as much as me. He felt caged up. Atlanta is a great city. It has a lot going on (the traffic is bad!). My favorite thing about Atlanta is the people-so friendly and kind. The least favorite thing is ... read more

I've had this 2001 Aliner Classic camper for several years and have loved it. It's comfortable; it's lightweight so even I can move it around on concrete; it's not difficult to back into a campsite; it's taken me north and south with great pleasure. My towing vehicle is a 6 cylinder Chevy Equinox; I had a hitch put on, hooked up and took off. I want to give you a tour of this customized camper.... read more

First day – June 27, 2013 Today started pretty early, got up at 4:15 and we were on the road by 5:00. The first few hours were rather uneventful driving out I-70 to I-81. Traffic was relatively light and a great change from fighting the hordes of people trying to get around DC. However, I-81 was loaded with trucks and after a while we got tired of driving around them or getting out of their way. Jill grabbed the map and found an alternate route for us – down a stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The sky was extremely overcast and heavy fog hung in the valleys between blue-hued mountain ridges. It wasn’t the best day for sight seeing but driving the smooth-surfaced, twisting road was a fun experience. This might be a ... read more

Geo: 33.7481, -84.3909Today was our long flight day. We got to the airport with my new 29 inch suitcase and I immediately went to an empty kiosk and self-weighed our bags. We had a strict 50 pound weight limit and my suitcase was at 58 pounds but Kamie was only at 38 pounds. I took our bags to the side, removed three "liquid" bags from my suitcase and put them in his... we came in at 48 pounds and 46 pounds. We lost 2 pounds in a one minute shuffle. Nice. We have a 44 pound weight limit on our Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Venice. I'm hoping to drink 6 pounds of wine while we are in Dublin... a rather lofty goal according to Kamie! ;~)Flights went smooth, by the way. St Louis Airport ... read more
