Hi Everyone, Thanks for all the comments that have been sent to me. Finally figured out tonight how I could find them to read. I wish you were all with me! We would have a heckuva great time. For those that don't live in a 55+ community, Mexican Train is a domino's game. Last night, for the 3rd time, we moved our clocks ahead 1 hour. We are now 3 hours ahead of Eastern time. You can tell that we are moving north by looking into the shops here. The t-shirts have disappeared and been replaced by sweatsuits, puffer jackets and vests. Today was my slowest moving day yet - and there ain't nothing wrong with that. Found my favorite spot up by the pool this morning and did more reading, people watching and this time, ... read more

Visited family in Beaufort, SC, for a few days then set out for the Keys. Friends had encouraged us to go before they sink into the ocean and we thought that a good idea. Of course, the weather report for Thursday was torrential downpour and high winds. We had planned to go part way—staying overnight in Titusville, near Cape Kennedy. Began to rain at 3 a.m., lightning, thunder, the whole bit. Got soaked getting to and in the car. Huge puddles by the roadside and, of course, a variety of accidents (mostly on the other side). Hard drive but we made it, got checked in just in time for it to clear up. Walked to a steak house for a yummy dinner. On the road next morning, lots of traffic! Stuck to the toll roads which, ... read more

Stayed up last night and finished my book. It was 2:00AM before the lights got turned out. This morning started out slowly for me. Got up, took a shower and then went back to bed! When I got up for good, I went to the dining reservations desk to add 2 more people to my reservation for tomorrow night for one of the fancy restaurants that is included in my package. 2 of the folks that I meet up wit... read more

Hi Everyone, Today is the first of 5 sea days before we land in Ireland. My goal is to finish John Grisham's The Chamber and to read his The Broker and at least a couple magazines that I brought along during this time. I had a lazy morning. Went to a talk about the upcoming ports we are going to visit. It wasn't what I thought it would be but I did pick up some interesting tidbits. Then got the same great lounger and table on the 10th deck overlooking the pool to sit and read for a few hours that I had had the day before. I ended up doing more people watching than reading. It was such a beautiful day but again, many people were all bundled up. I came back and read on ... read more

Hi Everyone, Had a super night's sleep last night. Don't think I moved until 7AM. Then I rolled over and went back to sleep. At 10AM, I went to a "Meet and Greet" with people that had been participating for the last couple months on a long blog that was specifically for people on this particular sailing. Met a lot of very nice people. After it, I heard a couple mention the words "Mexican Train" from across the room so I went over and asked if they were looking for more players, I'd be happy to play. We spent the afternoon playing with another gentleman who had overheard our discussion. Anyone that plays MT knows there are a lot of different house rules that different people play by. Let me tell you, this guy Dave had ... read more

Hi Everyone, Today dawned bright and beautiful in Bermuda. My catamaran excursion got cancelled due to Operator problems. We docked at the Naval Shipyard. Sam and I had spent several days in Bermuda years ago and had rented a moped and explored the island for 2 1/2 days so I did not feel like I was missing anything - other than the Rum Swizzlers, which seem to be Bermuda's main cocktail. The shipyard has gotten a little touristy since I was here last. I went out, walked around, went into some beautiful craft markets but since my suitcase is already overflowing, nothing was purchased. Guess my only souvenirs this trip will have to be something that fits on my fingers, wrist or ears! Came back and went up to the Crow's Nest, which is a very ... read more

Hi Everyone, Finished our second Sea Day. The ocean has been pretty calm. After reading for a bit on my balcony, I went up to the deck just above the pool and found a spot to sit and read. Weather was perfect for me. Most people were wearing sweaters/sweatshirts and long pants. I had shorts and sleeveless top on and it felt great. Did not get a lot of reading done. A couple sat down at my table as I was eating my (very good) pizza for lunch and had their lunch with me. Very nice and chatty couple from Oregon. As soon as they left, a couple of the solo traveling gals came by that I had met so they sat with me and then another gal joined us. We went to the talk on ... read more

Hi Everyone, My trans-Atlantic cruise was planned many months ago but I unexpectedly found myself having to make the trip solo. It is 14 days from Ft Lauderdale to cross the ocean to Rotterdam, The Netherlands. There are stops, in order: Bermuda, Ireland, Guernsey, England and France. From Rotterdam, I will take a train to Amsterdam and stay there for 3 nights. I fly home from Amsterdam, Wednesday, April 24th. I'm very excited! Picked up a shiny brand new Malibu on Saturday afternoon from Avis in Leesburg. Left at 5AM this morning (Sunday) and drove to Ft. Lauderdale. It was a great car to drive, peppy and responsive. I haven't driven a new car in over 100,000 miles. :-) Avis immediately got me to Holland America's Nieuw Statendam ship. Had a very pleasant wait in the ... read more

April 3 The April Fools Day, moved to the Third. Heavy rain and rush hour traffic made me wonder if I would miss my flight. Still I made it to the airport by ten for my eleven flight. Zipped through check in and got my chair right away. As always, mine was the last gate. My pushed was about sixty, stopped to visit a friend and exchange lunch items, then proceeded to tell me haw far the gate was. 1st surprise, a shuttle bus would take us from gate 23 to gate 53. The waiting room looked surprisingly empty but the plane was on time. 1st fall as I tripped at the door of the plane. No damage. We sat on the runway for half an hour and were warned it would be a bumpy flight. ... read more

Okie Dokie! You may as well pick your seat, sit back and relax. This is going to take awhile. Our last blog ended with our Royal Carribean cruise. This one will take you along on everything that has happened or that we have done since then. Oh, Boy.….I can hear your moans now. No matter, we are marching on with it all. Like it or Not. Our microwave finally “gave up the ghost”…..what does that even mean? Google states: “to stop trying to do something because you know that you will not succeed”. I guess our microwave knew it couldn't nuke anything anymore after 16 years of use. Our dear friend, Art, helped Cory to get it out of its spot in our RV. That was a real challenge but they succeeded. We ordered a new ... read more
