Florida State's A&E campus
It's never too early to start practicing the great college search.
Day 8 - Bonifay to Winter Haven
We started the morning with Papa's excellent muffins, a staple of any visit to the farm. Michelle and Grammy have a fondness for the banana nut and Anne and Papa like the blueberry. Tony's not picky and will eat whatever is left. After another good morning of chatting and offers of more food than we could carry we loaded up again and headed out to meet Anne's cousin Marina in Tallahassee. Marina is taking a class at the Florida A&M college in Tallahassee this summer so Tony and Michelle walked around campus to practice looking at colleges (Hey, it's never too early to start!) after a quick stop at Dunkin' Donuts. After the tour we met Marina for lunch at Dog Et Al, an iconic hot dog joint near campus. They boast that they have over 10,000 differnt hotdog and topping combinations as well as corndogs, homemade chips, onion rings, and fries. It was corn dogs all around for us and Anne and Marina had a great time catching up. After lunch we headed south again on Hwy 98 to Winter Haven. The benefit of staying off the interstate was we

saw some great small towns and scenery. We made it to Anne's Aunt Leonda and Uncle Bob's house in Winter Haven by 7PM. Uncle Bob had worked hard to get their pool in tip top shape and it was done just in time for a pre-dinner swim. They made us welcome and fed us. A great night of chatting and catching up rounded out the day.
