Topsail St Andrews

I travel a lot; I hate having my life disrupted by routine. ~Caskie Stinnett

February 7, 2010, Sunday, St. Joseph’s Peninsula SP, to Topsail Hill SP
Today is Super Bowl Sunday, and since the Steelers are not in it, Bob accepted the fact that he would listen to the game on the radio.
Topsail Hill Preserve SP is described as an RV Resort? We knew it was more expensive than other SP’s, but being a “Resort” it has full hook-ups, including cable! So Bob has lucked out.
We enjoyed a 3+ mile walk on the pristine beach with large sand dunes…quite a lovely setting. Topsail has a large swimming pool, so a visit here in the warmer weather would be fun.

February 8, 2010, Monday, Topsail Hill Preserve SP
Well, our “slide” stopped working. The “slide” is the side wall of the dining room that slides out giving us more space to live when we are parked.
We visited an RV shop in Panama City, however, after several hours they did not find the power source. Since the RV shop is not a Winnebago dealer, there was not help from Winnebago. So we are “slide-less”, nothing essential.
Back to Topsail, we enjoyed another walk, this time going west; the weather was windy, but sunny.

February 9, 2010, Tuesday, Topsail Hill Preserve SP to St. Andrew’s SP
It was a rainy night, but the north is being slammed with another snowstorm, so we won’t complain.
St. Andrew SP was named America’s Best Beach in 1995. It is know for its sugar white sand and clear emerald water. As the Appalachian Mts eroded millions or years ago, rivers and streams carried the quartz sand southward depositing the sand on the beach and barrier islands.
There are several trails here, we followed the water along the Grand Lagoon, quite pretty but really chilly. Are we in Florida?

We are jealous...
Hi Bob & Kelly, we are jealous of your beautiful weather from your trip. We have at least 22 inches of snow here in Pittsburgh. We will try to send you pictures of the arctic wonderland of Fieldcrest Drive. Stay in the warm safe sunny location that you are enjoying! Take care.

Looks like a great birthday celebration; our favorite desert is key lime pie! Stay warm!

Luscious Key Lime pie
Maureen and Bob---I hope you shared that dessert! Being in the desert, I must admire the water around you---although we have had good winter rains. Which then continued east and dumped on the Atlantic seaboard including Washington DC. as all that snow. Happy to know you are enjoying the winter in Florida. We expect to see a beautiful desert in bloom in Arizona this year. See you in May/June. Jim and Joan
