We arrived in Gulf Breeze on Santa Rosa Island with no problems. We waited in Auburn until the rain lessened, leaving at 10:45 and arrived at the resort at 3:30 - only a little over 4 hour drive... not bad at all! We will be here until Friday, March 16th.
Drove 220 miles - MPG increased to 8.0 (whoop whoop)
We found the resort (Pensacola Beach RV Resort) very well kept, all RV 72 spots are on concrete with full hookups. The spots are a little close to each other, but not bad once we got the RV situated on the pad correctly. There are a lot of restrictions here, more than we have ever encountered before. Nothing allowed on grass that could cause damage (no rugs, dog cages, etc); no campfires unless their are up off the ground; grills not allowed on grass or on top of picnic table; no flag stakes unless approved (could cause damage to irrigation system). However, with all this said, the resort is very nice - the Pensacola Bay is directly in front of us and the Gulf Ocean is across the street behind us.
The weather could be better - but
definitely not complaining! It is very windy, with temperatures in the mid 60's (but feels cooler). This weather front should hang around for a couple days - hopefully then it will get warmer.
We are off to explore and see what trouble we can find. Roxie and Luke are doing great - they have settled in and have relaxed!
We stopped for gas at Loves Travel Plaza -
35.474 gallons; $2.819 per gallon
