This might be our 10th visit to Saint Augustine. It was our first visit to the Alligator Farm Zoological Park, 999 Anastasia Boulevard; we shouldn't have stayed away so long. Admission is on the pricey side ($21 each (with our AAA discount). Our advice would be to go early in the day, take in all the shows, and get your money's worth. We caught three shows - alligator feeding, a reptile show, and fauna of the rain forest. All were informative, lasted about 20 minutes and provided time after for Q & A and, except for the alligator show, some optional touching.
I think we stayed away because Alligator Farm's promotion seemed kind of hokey and "touristy" plus we are not particular fans of theme parks. We went to Ripley's, also in St. Augustine, one day because it was raining and we needed to kill time before our ride back to the RV Park (this is before we had a jeep). We felt soooooo ripped off that it has taken years of theme park recovery! Alligator Farm was worth it, but only after you're tired of the beautiful beaches, done the train tour, visited Flagler College and the Flagler Museum,
stopped in at a few churches with Tiffany windows, climbed the lighthouse, taken a boat cruise, and strolled around in the old town.
