As in yesterday’s blog, I got up an hour earlier than I had to to get to the rv repair place. I guess I need a caretaker. We did get to have leisurely coffee but no breakfast, disconnected the electric, secured everything and headed out to repair the antenna wire. With the help of the gps we found the place and Oscar was allowed to come in and wait inside the showroom where it was warm. It was really chilly this morning.
The guy got a ladder, got up to the roof, screwed the parts back together and we were in business. So now we can watch shows tonight and Dedie can watch the Oscars tomorrow night. Yeh!
Then we found a McDonalds for breakfast because they have wifi. We got breakfast and an internet connection for 1 ½ hours. So I got several blogs published and e mails read and answered and checked on face book to see what was happening. Saw my nephew’s pictures, (Dedie’s son) of his school and apartment. He is in New Zealand for the second half of his 2nd year of college. Very exciting for him.
Since we were out
we decided to see what the shops at the pier had to offer. What a great place. Again, it is a pet friendly place so Oscar got to go and walk around and even go into some shops. He got really tired of the attention so I put him back in the camper before he bit somebody. The place was very nicely done, pretty buildings, with lots of bright colors, benches, and plantings. We looked at island clothes and jewelry and hot sauces and purses. We managed to bypass the cinnamon buns, ice cream and cookies and candy stores. Save those calories for booze.
Dee got hot sauce and I got a pair of crocks to wear around the camper. I got a pair of sandals and they almost killed me twice so I needed something more substantial. Black ones with a yellow smile face.
The weather was still terrible, cold , cloudy and windy so we headed for Old St Andrew. It was supposed to have a bunch of different shops and restaurants on the water. We were also looking for a boat ride to shell island and thought we might find one there. They only run
pirate ship back there
Do you think it was cold? it on Tues and Thurs so we missed the boat. Always leave them wanting..
We went into what looked like a locals place for dinner at 3:30 and sat outside overlooking the water having a drink until we got cold then it was eat inside. Dee had raw oysters and I had grouper po boy. Both really good. Dee had been wanting oysters since we got here and finally she got them and they were well worth it.
Back at the camper we fed Oscar and headed home. We settled into camp and finished the evening inside the camper since the weather was still cold and cloudy.
The forecast is for more of the same tomorrow , sure not happy about that! At least we have tv…
