The weather has become the major factor in what we do. It started out warm today but cloudy so we went for a walk to the dock, the gator lake and the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beach so we took turns looking. The wind was really blowing and the surfers were out in force. Lots of waves but not much to ride. We walked back and poor Oscar was pooped. His ears were red dots on the underside and he just laid in the sand at the camper. After a while he was fine, but enjoyed being in his bed, he was really hot.
Dee and I drove to the beach in the afternoon because we had a cooler and chairs and didn’t want to carry them that far. It was really windy and there were still surfers and now 2 wind surfers had joined them. There was a woman right in front of us going back and forth who was just having a ball. Picture
We managed to finish one beer before the storm started to roll in. Dee suggested we go and by the time we hit the stairs over the dunes the rain
was coming in buckets. So it was back to the camper and dry off. Then we decided to go out for dinner so we put on a little dressier shirt and some jewelry on and headed out to find the best dinner in town. We really found it. Hammerhead Fred’s seemed to be the place so we went in and there was an hour wait and it was only 5:10, those seniors and their early dinners.
A side note here=== I am confused as to what day it is and now they are changing the time on me! Some where in our travels yesterday we crossed a time zone. We are now in central time, go figure. I just can’t get accustomed to it.
Back at the restaurant, we went to the bar to wait and found out it was happy hour, 2 for 1. We found a seat and enjoyed the noise and the band that played old oldies. It sure was a jumping place.
Dee had shrimp and scallops and I had the fish special that was absolutely fabulous. We are eating well.
Back to the campground, we managed to operate the entrance gate
without a problem and got to our campsite in the pitch dark.
We couldn’t watch tv even though we got channels here near Panama City because I had gone under a low tree and the antenna wire came off the antenna. It’s a good thing I didn’t have a ladder or I would have had to climb up there to fix it. I tend to stay away from ladders since I took a header off a chair at home. I called an rv repair place and they said to bring it in in the morning at 8:30. So I set the alarm for 7 to make sure we got there on time and the next morning realized it was really 6 am here, and I was SO asleep!
