Tuesday, January 21, 2014 Today we experienced the amazingly fun Hollywood Studios. It reminded me a lot of the re-imagined Disneyland California Adventure. We never waited in line for Star Tours, but found Toy Story, Tower of Terror and the Rockin Rollercoaster consistently had 60-90 minute wait times. Rides and Experiences: Character greetings: Goofy, Chip and Dale Toy Story Mania (fastpass) Star Tours The Great Movie Ride Tower of Terror (fastpass) Lunch - Fairfax Fare (didnt like it) Voyage of the Little Mermaid show Star Tours Character greeting: Mr. Incredible and Frozone Muppet Vision 3D Snack - Writer's Corner (liked this spot) Lights, Motors, Action! show Animation Academy Fantasmic Dinner - Hotel ... read more

The highlight of the day was our Princess Luncheon. We found Epcot requires the stamina for a lot of walking, but frequent breaks allows for lots of people watching too. Another important note, adults should take the easy option for Mission Space. Though neither of us were sick, our guts were a little shaken by taking the significant g-forces of the extreme version of the ride. Rides and Experiences: ... read more

Saturday, January 18, 2014 After months - actually, years - of anticipation, today marked the beginning of my Walt Disney World dream vacation with one of my favorite travel companions, my sister, Jennifer. Since our 2006 dual-graduation trip to Disneyland, we’ve been plotting a WDW trip together. Something would always disrupt actual vacation plans, and last year Jen put her foot down. We are going in 2014 and that’s that. From my years of extensive park research (proud Disney geek), I knew that the month with lower attendance and comfortable weather was January. We had the details figured out in no time and booked the trip. I kissed and hugged my boyfriend goodbye at the airport drop-off. Of course I would miss him, and my emotional cat. But I also disclosed this was going to be ... read more

"The only thing predicable about life is its unpredictability". Remy, Ratatouille This is my final blog about our trip. So it's a long one as I was trying to capture our last day there along with my overall thoughts of our experience there. Thanks for reading & for all your comments! (PS I apologize if you got this twice; it showed unsent?) Without a doubt some of the best quotes came from Disney movies, and Walt Disney himself. I mean how do you beat this quote? "The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique". If every kid (& adult) believed that, the world would be a better place guaranteed.I sure enjoy a good quote (no kidding Sherlock!) & I use them because they are generally inspiring & can ... read more

Oh where oh where to begin about Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios. Totally mesmerizing, spellbinding and hypnotic. I shall run out of adjectives before I'm done these blogs. It was worth fighting the crowds and again thanks to Linda & Martha for holding our seats for us. Considering about 7,000 can see this show, you've got to hustle to get into line. Although it was very well organized to get into and out of. The 25 minute nighttime extravaganza begins with a dreaming Mickey on a dark island and he acts as a conductor as music fills the air and the waters surrounding the island beings to dance...then suddenly screens of water emerge & a multitude of images are displayed upon them. It was a wonderful journey with music, lights and pyrotechnics & special effects. Bursts of ... read more

"Salagadoola mechicka boola bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, Put 'em together and what have you got bibbidi-bobbidi boo (Cinderlla) So our princess storytelling lunch was pretty cool overall despite that "other thing"... We were treated like princesses at the Royal Akershus Hall in Norway in the World's Showcase at Epcot. The girls were all dressed up & looked so adorable! They all had their autograph books and upon entering the Royal Hall, we had a photo opt with Belle. The pictures that were professionally taken are pretty stunning. We were told by the time our lunch was over our pics would be delivered in a frame to our table. Lunch consisted of a 3 entree meal; appetizers from a buffet which included smoked salmon, shrimp, fresh salmon, salad bar, deli meat & antipasto bar, with cheese etc. I ... read more

"What do you do when things go wrong? Oh! You sing a song". Snow White Well if that quote is true, on Monday I would've been singing a few songs. Whew... So this is a follow up with the incident with Rory at Epcot. I didn't mean to scare anyone (sorry Celine; I got your message!) Obviously I hoped you all knew if I was still sending blogs, Rory was OK. So note to grandparents, Rory is fine, all grandkids are fine...Mickey Mouse sends his love too. On Monday we went to Animal Kingdom, followed by us gals attending a pre-arranged "princess" lunch & story book telling session at Epcot. Overall it was fabulous despite the incident. I will get into the details of the actual luncheon later on for those that want to ever attend ... read more

I'm only brave when I have to be. ~ Lion King So after filling you in the choking episode, well, we'll just move onto Animal Kingdom etc. We were all looking forward to being out in nature on a huge animal reserve. We had arranged to meet Henry & Linda there so we knew it would be another fun family day together. Home to more than 1,700 animals across 250 species, the park reflects Walt Disney’s dedication to conservation and is committed to animal care, education and research. (Apparently whatever you do, don't call it a zoo. They are very touchy about that). I suppose they can be as touchy as they want; it took them a billion dollars to complete.
