Hi guys. Just to let you know to protect privacy. I am not running this blog I am emailing a friend who is editing and running the blog for me. I haven't got time to polish grammar and spelling and anyway I'm too busy doing Disney fun. The different time zone doesn't help either. Thanks for understanding... read more

After a long day we arrived in Orlando airport, got through the gates and got the Disney Express to our hotel, where we checked in, got our Magic Bands and unpacked. We wandered round the hotel, got our refillable mugs and in the evening we went off to the Magic Kingdom, that being the park that was open till 1am. We fell into bed at 12:30 am... read more

Mark and I had reached a defining moment in our relationship – we were planning a day at Disney World. Through his work connections, Mark scored a pair of Disney park hopper tickets. Within an hour, I had dinner reservations made in the park. This was going to be awesome. Part One – Hollywood Studios Donning Star Wars t-shirts, Mark and I headed off to Hollywood Studios. Since he’s not too much of a ride guy, I thought Mark would enjoy the shows and character experiences in HS. Our first stop, however, was just for me. Like a gentleman, Mark walked with me through the queue of my favorite HS ride, the Tower of Terror. I love the lobby, expertly covered in dust and cobwebs. We parted at the loading platform, where he was escorted down ... read more

December 18, 2014: Second time in Disney! First day feels. Our plane finally lands and Disney employees are waiting for us with a magical bus called "Disney's Magical Express". We are welcomed aboard by the sweetest bus driver, and enter a bus full of smiling people of all ages. On our drive to Walt Disney World, there is a Disney tv showing us tips and tricks on how to get around the parks. WE'RE ABOUT TO ENTER THE DOORS AND THE BUS DRIVER MAKES US ALL SCREAM AND SHOUT WITH LAUGHTER! We're all clapping our hands and taking pictures of a huge Mickey statue. I swear something changed when we entered those gates, it's true when they say Disney is magical. Once we got to our resort (All Star Sports), I was amazed. The resort was ... read more

December 18, 2014: WOW! Downtown Disney has changed a whole lot from 2005 that's for sure! Almost 10 years, and they have really advanced. Walking through downtown felt great. Jui and I took pictures with almost every single Mickey/Minnie ears we saw, and sang with almost every single street performer. Downtown dazzles at night with the most beautiful lights. I also saw the world's largest Disney store and probably spent at least an hour in there! I finally bought my Minnie ears as well, and wore them the entire night. We had to wait in a long line to eat dinner at some sandwich place, but the wait was worth it. The sandwiches were delicious, and kept us going for the rest of the night. I recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, and filling ... read more

The one about quality time with (part of) the family The reason I left NC so early this year was due in part to being able to join up with some of the family for a few days at Disney World. Kristine and Lou along with Maggie and Hudson left Park City, UT for a month long whirlwind tour of the east coast for the holidays. They spent time in NJ, then Christmas with me and Tim and his family in NC, and travelled to Charleston to see Maggie’s grandparents then on to Lou’s family in Fort Lauderdale for New Years. The final leg of their trip was 3 nights at WDW. The main campground I spend time at is in Orlando, so it was a no brainer for me to meet up with them. Remember ... read more

The next morning we were able to sleep in and decided to drive to the studios rather than take the buses again. Our first fast pass was at Star Tours. I wondered if the boys would like this as each of them had found things that surprised me to scare them (Pirate makeover, disney characters, tiki birds). With Emry's head barely scraping the height restriction, we all enjoyed the ride! Then we came out and decided to take them to Muppets 3D, something our whole family used to love. G really does not like shows until about halfway through, then he either loves them or hates them. Fortunately, he loved this one. When we came out, it was pouring, pouring rain. The whole exit ramp was packed with people and when it seemed like we would ... read more

In late July 2014, we were able to take a last minute trip to Florida and one of the goals was to see how inexpensively we could have 6 nights / 7 days in the "Sunshine State." Of course the question of whether to drive or fly was the first thing to be decided. We were able to find flights from Columbus, Ohio to Orlando for about $270 each R/T which turned out to be a really great move. Flying gave us more vacation time and less drive time. It was also the first time we had flown Southwest Airlines which proved to work-out just fine. That's the first part of "cheap". Next is where to stay and I had a credit on my account for $195.00 from the Marriott Vacation Club from an earlier trip ... read more

Howdy from Florida! I met Stu in Miami and spent a couple relaxing days there. Absolutely brilliant to see Stuart after so long, I just hope that our time won't go so quickly this time! The weather was lovely in Miami but it looks like it will be the last of it! We spent most of our time chilling on the beach and eating nice food..not so eventful really! I did get my hair cut though (my first since leaving England) and it is a terrible cut! The hairdresser told m my hair was in bad condition and decided to chop a few inches off. Trying to curl it or put it up in a bun whenever I can to forget how bad it is! Our last day in Miami, we picked up our hire car ... read more
