So on Nov. 30th we woke up, had breakfast at the hotel and got all of our things together and ready to check out. Around 9:30 we arrived at the Orlando airport (side note: drivers at this airport are crazy, if you're in the area beware.) We quickly dropped off Stephanie's Mom and Dad, and with the knowledge that we were now officially on our own headed out. So of course we choose the Walt Disney World park to help us acclimate to the new situation. We decided to go to the Magic Kingdom, because I have never seen the park in Winter and there were several rides and shows that we both wanted to see. We figured that we would be coming to Disney on a fairly regular basis so got annual passes. The lady ... read more

Went to the Premium Outlet mall today and wandered around. Bought new thongs as my old ones broke yesterday. Joyce lost her sunnies so we bought her a pair of Dockers. Had lunch at the mall and back to the hotel. Took a larger group of 15 to Amici restaurant tonight. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and were happy with our recommendation. We went to Downtown Disney after dinner and wandered around for a while. Very commercial area.... read more

Orlando! - by Jo We reached Orlando by Amtrak, the most well-known train company in the States. The journey was comfortable apart from the fact that the air conditioning was being pumped out so hard that we almost froze to death... But in comparison to the Greyhound buses that we were soon to encounter, it was total luxury. Rachael felt similar to how I had been feeling on our flight to Miami, as her boyfriend Chris was flying into Orlando that night to meet us. Our accommodation was called 'Palm Lakefront Resort and Hostel' which conjured up images in our heads of a relaxing place by the lake, complete with swimming pool and hotel-style rooms. The reality was a roadside motel - one of those truly American-style motels that you see in films, where dodgy people ... read more

I so look forward to the end of weekends at Disney World. No more crowds. No more walking. No more stupid cartoon characters. No more stupid long lines. No more overpriced everythings. We checked out of the hotel Sunday around 10am and headed straight for the Magic Kingdom. Took the ferry across the lake since the line for the monorail was stupidly long. Got thru the entrance pretty quickly though. Stopped at a bakery along Main st USA for breakfast. I had the nastiest ham, egg, & cheese croissant I have ever tasted. From there we went straight to Splash Mountain where we got fast passes for about 12:40. Then we back tracked to Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean. By the time we finished with Pirates, it was time for Splash Mountain. The wife ... read more

Yep. A new song. It actually involved sexually violating several different types of animals. My wife sang it to me and was surprised to find out I didn't know it. I probably should ask how in the hell she knows it. But I doubt I want to know. Todays exploits were pretty unexciting. I mean I guess they could be if you have never been to Disneys Hollywood Studios before. But I have. Many many many times. So many times that it isn't even a big deal that we didn't ride Aerosmiths Rockin Roller Coaster, my fav Disney ride of all the parks of all time. We used fast passes for Star Tours (A ride I usually dont ride or even like). But Disney has changed it, so I had to see how it was different. ... read more

When I travel around the world, I try to do things the local way. It's a shame everyone doesnt. I would appreciate it if the rest of the world would figure out the concept of personal space. Hispanics crowding up on one side. Asians on the other. Sorry old Japanese man. You would not have gotten hit if you were not standing in my butthole. Is 6 inches of space really too much to ask for? Its bad enough I gave up my fast passes to ride soarin and decided to go on and stand in the 80 minute long wait, just so I could go on and get it over with. We all have to stand here. I may appear to be a wall because you are a tiny little asian and I am a ... read more

Another Fun filled day! We left our Hotel at 7:20am and only got back 10:30pm...very tired! I dreamed about Disney when I was a little girl and now I've seen it!! It is a fantasy land where every kids' dreams come true, and I thought of that little girl I used to be and I wish I could tell her that one day she will see it! Yay!!! And now as a Big girl I still enjoyed it and I can almost say it's just how I imagined it to be! The park was very full for a Monday morning...lots of little kids running around and millions of strollers and prams everywhere! There are enough rides and shows to keep the kids and adults busy. We enjoyed Space Mountain, (only two days ago a woman was ... read more

T and I are seasoned pros at navigating Walt Disney World and have been able to see tons of stuff with an almost mathematical precision. Unlike our other travel destinations which lend themselves well to natural impulsiveness; we have found that the key to a blister-free and joyful visit to Disney is to approach it with the same planning and forethought otherwise reserved for invading another country. (Stop it – it is sojust as much fun as winging it). The theory is a simple one: avoiding long lines = more fun. Think about it…long lines mean more waiting. More waiting means time lost, fewer rides, sorer feeties and general crankiness not at all in the spirit that Walt intended. We gotta keep the magic flowing, baby, and the only way to do that is to not ... read more

The second part of the trip seemed to fly by faster than the first part. Normal I guess. We revisited each of the parks except for Hollywood Studios. Epcot was our favorite so we went there for short days a few times. In the second week we also went out to Cape Canaveral to the Kennedy Space Center for a day. That was a great trip. We all enjoyed it even more than we expected and could have spent an extra day there to see everything. For this blog entry I was going to mostly do my writing right with each photo, but when I previewed the blog about half way through doing it this way I find that it doesn't easily show all that text with the photos so I am cutting it out and ... read more

Oceanna 2/7/2011 40 years after the initial opening of Walt Disney Worlds’ Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney’s dream is still going strong. Magic Kingdom is held by many to be the best experience they have ever had, but why? What makes Magic Kingdom so different from other theme parks or other family experiences? The Disney experience is truly in a class all its own. From the moment you enter the park you feel as if you have entered into another reality. Surrounded by beautiful things and people you care about, it really makes you appreciate life. The park is divided into seven different areas: Fantasyland, Adventureland, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, Mickey’s Toontown Fair, Liberty Square, and Main Street USA. Each area has their own attractions that make them all popular destinations. The hottest attractions for thrill seekers at Magic ... read more
