Wow 40 years...How time flys....We had 110 persons at our home...From our different walks of our life. We were lucky that 4 of the 5 kids could attend. Pete and his family just moved this past January to Winchester, KY. Pete has not time off right at the moment.
We had Pete's brothers and their families come, some of my family, and tons of friends. Mike, our youngest son, somehow put himself in charge of boat tours. We were amazed, friends told us Mike had given them a great tour. Some had never been in a sailboat. Some said they didn't care if they ever were on another, but that Mike had been so charming...And wanted to know about all his girl friends...John was actually great also. Everyone seem to be at their peak.
We served a typical Cuban dinner. Roast Pork, black beans and white rice with trimmings of course. Yuca, fried sweet plantains. And yes, everything was catered this time. For dessert, Flan of course.
We then endure a few minutes of roasting Mom and Dad by Mike, Deb, John and Joann, in this order. Some of our friends then finished it with a champagne toast.
It was great to hear what our children thought of us and their upbringing. Many tears and emotion was shown.
