Well I have to say that Miami was a bit of a disappointment for me...apart from a wonderful RV park. Part of that may have been the unseasonably cool weather, part of it may have been that we didn't go out to the clubs as we had Chris with us, but I would say the most disappointing was that the two attractions that I had looked forward to seeing were both closed after driving a hour to see them. The first was the Venetian pool in Coral Gables which was supposedly the most beautiful pool in the United States...you'll have to use your imagination in the photos as it was drained of water. This was particularly disappointing as I had rushed Bob and Chris out the door in the morning when it was hot and they wanted to go swimming saying that it would be worth it to swim in a pool that beautiful....and then when we got back
the cold front had moved in....I won't complain too much though as it was much colder in CT that week. The next daytrip was Wannado city which sounded really cool, it was a childrens museum where you could work at your choice of over 100 careers andd earn money to spend and when it was spent you chose a new career to earn more money. It was located in the Sawgrass Mills mall. Well when we got there it was also closed! At least this time we had something to do as we explored the mall. I was calling the day career day but the only career that Chris got to see was salesmen as no less than three salespeople tried to get me to buy beauty products....the first being the only one to succeed. We did go into little Havana for a meal and took some snapshots around Coral Gables but all in all disappointing. It was also a wakeup call about how others live as driving by a local school we saw bulletproof shields on all the windows. A fellow camper who worked in the area talked about gun fire going off one night nearby and how, while the campground was safe, the fields in a nearby nursery had turned up several bodies execution style. I don't know if this was true or not but I saw no reason for him to lie about it and it definately added to an already uneasy feeling that I had.

This was one of the highlights of our daytrip that day as it was delicious food and Chris found out that he really likes empanadas
