Rain, Rain Go Away....The Fearless Foursome Want To Play. Saturday....and it rained in Paradise. When it rains here, I mean it REALLY rains! Torrential! During a momentary halt of this horrific monson, we jumped in our car and sped away to the Artegon Mall.
Our goal: watch a movie. Decisions, Decisions. Two movies ended up in our best time frame....."Why Him?" and "Manchester By The Sea". Our daughter, Kim, had told us "Why Him" was really funny but not suited for my tender ears with all the bad language. Heads you win; Tails you loose. Heads! We entered the theater to see "Why Him!" I could hear Lulu's muffled cries in her carry bag.....Nooooooo. She can't cover her ears with no hands. I'll do it for you, sister. 🎶🎶Don't worry....Be Happy.🎶🎶🎶 I like that song!
This is a Cinemark theater. Beautiful. First, we had assigned seats. The size of our specific theater was moderately small compared to some. Less people to spread respiratory germs. Lulu is relieved. Hard for her to cover her mouth with no arms or hands. With Sam, we get prime seating. A couple girls were in our seats but politely moved. As we settled into
The Cinemark Theater
the very comfy, padded seats, we found we could turn them into recliners. Magnificent. So comfy. We talked about just spending the night here. We were so laid back - which was good 'cause we were pretty close to the screen. The actors were about 20 times our size. One of the girls who had been in these seats, came down and took our five-some's picture.
Sandy had a coupon and a phone app so she got really good deals on her popcorn and drink. Cory used her phone app and got our same snacks discounted, too. I'm putting this app on his phone and my IPad. Good deal! Oh, yes....if you go on Monday, all movies are $5.00/person.
Kim was right as always. It was a good movie....very funny...but terrible language from start to end. Actually, the bad words were a part of the theme of the movie. I still love "Finding Nemo" the best.
The theater is a part of the Artegon Mall. They have changed it over the years. This year, it is better than ever. Lots of things to see and do and buy. Very festive. Lulu took many opportunities for her photo
shoots. First here, then there. She was so excited she wouldn't stay in her carry bag. Show-off. There are many "hand-crafted items" shops as well as other interesting ones. Ron-Jon and Bass Outlet are also attached to this mall. It allowed us to complete our walking marathon in warm and dry surroundings with much to see as we hoofed along.
Lots of places to eat along International Drive ....we ended up at Denny's. That was easy. The food was good and we were hungry. You pretty much know what you are getting at Denny's and we are never disappointed. Plus, with your AARP card, they take 20% off your bill. Does it get any better?
Cranked up the furnaces when we got home. Are we really in Florida? Is this Global Warming? I don't know but we aren't liking it. Brrrrrrr.
Today, Cory, Sandy and I took our biggest trek so far....for me, anyway. Sam wasn't sticking his nose out of his RV into this frigid weather. He was warm and toasty in his recliner, next to his fireplace, reading the Sunday paper. Sounds good to me, too. Is that why you didn't join us today? Taking
The movie we watched
Funny comedy movie....R rated
Sam's example instead of ours? Shame on you.
Wearing my winter coat, our journey took us to the far, far away Publix grocery store. Whew! Found the first bench and I plopped on it...outside the restrooms. Sandy said they had "seating" in the deli area. Great! And I was so thirsty. We shared the refreshing drink with 3 straws. Let's call Uber....pleeaassse. Nope! I'm traveling with dedicated, unyielding walkers. They are not flexible.
So back we go. Owww! On the way, we cross over a bridge with water beneath. A huge alligator is in it. I couldn't get a great picture cause of the railing. I was taking them blind. Cory has watched this gator over the years with his ritual walk to Publix. One time, the monster alligator brought most of his body to the surface. WOW....it was as a big as the biggies at Gatorland. You don't want to get anywhere near this swamp monster. It also gave me a brief respite before the gang started hiking back.
"Are we almost there?" I plead. Nope! Rats. I think the "burn" kicked in and I was able to finish the endurance test with the rest of
them. Yippee. However, I must tell you something. With all this walking I've been doing....I have GAINED 1 pound! Whaaaaat? What's wrong with this picture? I haven't eaten any more than usual but the pounds are piling on. How can this be true. I almost want to use those words repeated over and over again in the movie "Why Him?" If I don't see a reversal in this major weight gain, I may have to stop all this walking. What other choice do I have? Lulu understands. Sandy says maybe it's muscle.....now I will have both fat and muscles......Noooooooo. I want skin and bones. What shall I do? Maybe my Fitbit is weighing me down. Taking that off may be the answer.
That's it for today, everyone. Hope I didn't exhaust you too much. My endless jabber does tend to wear on you. As long as you keep walking with us, you can build up enough strength to cope with it....and maybe add a few pounds, also. Rats!
Lots of photos today (21) so don't forget to scroll WAY down. 😎
