Connie & Fran Curran
Thank you for a special and enjoyable evening Hang on.....its been challenging for me to keep up with all my blogs. Too many adventures! I need to clump some of these together. I know you don't mind. You have been flexible and understanding since the beginning.
We were invited to Connie and Fran (Fram, as some people like to call him) Curran's for a delicious homemade meal. Lulu figured she was on the invite list so sauntered (best she could) down the road with us. Connie likes to cook and you can really tell it! Everything she serves is delicious and perfect. She could have her own food truck or restaurant and the crowds would come! She is like our own Rachael Ray of the park. Sam & Sandy were invited, also. What a grand evening sharing her fabulous food with great friends. Fran & Connie are a lovely couple and we are fortunate to call them our friends. They are retired school teachers from the Philadelphia area. I hope they don't check my grammar too closely......eewww. Tim (our son), please note Connie's apron. WEGMAN'S! Tim is a Wegman employee so can appreciate her protective cover-up.
Cheddar's here we come! Our RV friends, Lynn and Chuck, joined
us for a meal at the "made from scratch" restaurant: Cheddar's. It opened just as we were leaving last year. Food is delicious and prices very reasonable. We have been here several times and always came out fat, full and satisfied. Oh, no! Not another bad Manny's experience! Everything was going along so nicely. We were devouring their scrumptious, mile high pile of onion rings (best ever). The men were enjoying a beer. Our waitress was eager to keep clearing our table and in the process, knocked over Chuck's beer. She quickly turn it back upright on the table only to set off a high spurting geyser. It was similar to Old Faithful. Spraying upward and then drizzling down onto our table. It flowed all over the place and onto the guys. The guys were geysered! The tried wiping down their soaked clothing but they still smelled like a beer vat. Oh, well. What can you do? Our meals were served. They were good except Chuck's chicken was comparable to a thick, dried up bar coaster! Not so good. Because Lynn & Chuck are such kind, caring and gracious couple....they moved on with it. Of course, Cory & I wanted
Good food, Good Friends
Lulu, Cory, Sam, Fran, Connie, Sandy immediate replacement with something edible for him. The demanding couple of this group! Poor Chuck gobbled and choked down the leathered slab so nothing was done. They are such good people. This shouldn't happened to them: beer soaking and left over chicken jerky! Fortunately, because they are so sweet....we were able to continue on with our evening, sharing many laughs and stories. Lynn and Chuck are full timers in this RV world. They go where the wind takes them. What a grand life they have. I met Lynn last year at my one and only time that I went to a Zumba class. I scratched Zumba fast but fortunately stayed in touch with Lynn. We are happy to call them our friends.
March 4th, we went to the annual Allegany picnic held here in Florida. It is open to anyone who lives or lived in Allegany County, NY. - (where we are from). It is held in Zephethills. This year they had 152 attendees...more than last and more newcomers. Great. Everyone brings a dish to pass so you can imagine the multiple food items served. It is like a Golden Corral restaurant (aka: the trough)! Lulu loved going and
wasted no time finding our friends to pose with: Lani and Roger. Lani is our son-in-law's, Jay, aunt. She and Rog were babysitters to 3 of our grandchildren. They were wonderful with these kids and taught them so much. Lory & Jay were so fortunate to have them care for their children. It was extra nice at this gathering because we ran into more friends from Wellsville, Tim & Dottie Torrey. I worked with Dottie at the hospital...many years ago. Tim owned and operated the main local restaurant, the Beef Haus ...everyone went here every Friday night for their delicious fish fry. Roast beef was their big calling. Dottie & Tim now live in Ocala, Florida. We had a great time with great food and friendship. Plus, I won one of the door prizes: a gift certificate to our local diner: The Texas Hot. Anyone and everyone visiting or from Wellsville, goes to The Texas Hot. Their hot dogs are to die for. Donny Osmond was recently there. See...
And last but not least, we joined our dearest friends, Sam & Sandy, and traveled back to the Bar Harbor Seafood place. " We're coming, Larry Lobster" hollers Lulu. This
time, Sandy & I ordered their $9.95 steamed lobster for lunch. Ooooooh. It was the best ever. The lobsters were big, big, big. They said 1 1/4 lbs. but they were bigger than what we have been getting at the Ale House. There, they say theirs are 1 1/4 lbs. also (they don't have them on the menu anymore). They don't compare to these at Bar Harbor. We both, also, bought two ($6.95) lobsters to go. Does it get any better? We filled the rest of the day by going to Costco's, SAM's, Wal-Mart and Walgreen's. Our car was loaded once home. We were filled up also. Loaded with lobster. What a great day with our great friends. We are so glad to call them our friends. Friends forever!
And not to leave any of you out! We are so thrilled to have each of you as our friends. Lulu says your name every night before she goes to bed. I hope you can hear her. It takes her quite awhile. Thanks for following along with us on the blog. "There are Good Ships and Wood Ships but the Best Ships are Friendships!" We are so happy to call
all of you our friends!
