The King: Dennis
Lulu loves Dennis I promised you yesterday you had something to look forward to (yikes...another preposition ended sentence) -- sorry teachers. It's your time to meet Dennis. Every Thursday night here at the park, Dennis puts on a Karaoke night. He is excellent at this. Everyone has a great time. There is some very good talent within this park. I am not included. One time, years ago, at the Wellsville American Legion, my friend, DeAnne McKay, and I got sauced up enough to do a Delta Dawn rendition. We liked doing it but I'm sure the folks around us were covering their ears and probably their eyes. We were good and loud if nothing else. ??Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on...??. Enough, back to Dennis. Besides encouraging the audience to sing....he is super talented himself and can knock your socks off with his Neil Diamond songs. Actually, he's better than Neil, himself. ??Sweet Caroline...??. I so wish you could hear him sing. You would be swooning in your seats and seeking his autograph. Last night, Cory stopped him to see him since our return to Tropical Palms. They had met playing golf. After a "hiddy-hiddy-do" with Cory, you'll never believe what Dennis
The Geek Squad
Lee & Art with supervisor Lulu did. He gave a big shout out to Lulu! She and I were back at The RV waiting for our most favorite show, The Big Bang Theory, to come on. I hope you love that show, also. Tell me you do. Good. Cory came back and told me how Dennis had acknowledged Lulu. She heard him say that and before I knew it, she had jumped into her carry bag and was pulling (best she can)us down the roadway to go see Dennis. She flew out of her bag and jumped right on stage with him. Beaming from ear to ear, she insisted I take their picture together. Dennis eagerly obliged. Lulu kept winking at him and I knew what her heart was saying. The other day, everything was all Jeff with her. Now she's singing tunes for Dennis. I heard her singing "You Are My Sunshine, Dennis!" - she is a fickle gal...what can I say? Fortunately, she loves the Big Bang as much as I do so complied when I yanked her off the stage and stuffed her in her carry bag and ran home to watch our fave show. I heard her singing and singing in her
Washing our RV in the rain
A bird sits in our artificial, lighted tree! bag all night. Only tunes for Dennis. I pray that Dennis's wife is okay with all this. I have good control over this flirtatious filly....well, most of the time I do.
Rain, Rain, Go Away.....it rained all night and morning. Art and Lee (The Geek Squad) at Tropical Palms came down to work on our Internet. They made sure everything was hooked up right. The speed is very slow but they said it is the park and not us. They are waiting for some parts to come in to improve this speed for all. That will be good. Thank you, Art and Lee for your help. Of course, as you can see, Miss Lulu, had to be on top of things while they worked. Miss Nosey.
Mike (next door) came over and had coffee with us. We were scheduled to have the RV and car washed and waxed but with the rain, even the ugly ducks (and they are...I'll get a picture of them one of these days) at the park had taken cover. Rap, Rap on our door. It's Steve who does the cleaning of the RV. He said they were going to wash the RV &
Construction around Disney Springs
Entering their massive parking garage car now and when the weather dried out, they would come back and wax/ polish them. Well, ooookay. They didn't have to use as much water cause the rain helped out. Lulu sat in the front window to monitor their job. She's omnipresent.....just everywhere, all the time. A get-around girl. That she is. I hope you are able to keep up with her. She's wearing me out.
Rainy days mean movie time....just like last year. We left "you-know-who" home cause she would cost us an extra ticket. Plus she gets loud in the theater if something exciting happens. We went to Disney Springs (the old Disney Village). They have been doing major work and construction around and inside this place....and they are not finished yet. Lots of construction still going on. We were able to get into their new parking garage easily. Found our way quickly to the movie theater at one end of this huge Disney shopping/entertainment area. Bought tickets for The Revenant which would start in a couple hours. We wandered around just a portion of the village before hanging out at Starbucks (taking selfies). Outside, there is a huge hot air balloon that visitors can pay
AMC Movie Theater
Watched The Revenant to go up in. It is tethered but does go very high in the sky. Took some other photos while meandering. Big Star Wars and Super Heroes stores. Cory liked the monkey boy picture on one of the food trucks. I took the picture of the pretty flowers for my faithful blog follower, Colleen. She loves flowers and keeps a magnificent flower garden at her home in Wellsville. Here's to you, Colleen. There are many new restaurants now. One called The Boathouse is really something. You can pay ($$$) to ride in a little car that drives right out into the lake. They ride/float you around for quite awhile. We both remember when they came out years ago...who would have known they would make a come back. Inside the restaurant, there is a Criss Craft boat with a portion of it converted into seating while you dine. Neat!
Time to go into the movie theater. We saw The Revenant...oh, I already said that. Whew! What a movie! It was very good but you have to tolerate a lot of violence and gore. I had to put my popcorn napkin over my eyes a couple time....and I'm used to gore...but
Cory like Monkey Boy
Our selfie at Starbucks this involved an animal and I can't stand that. Leo did an excellent acting job....I'd vote for him for an award. After the movie, we decided to top the night off at The Earl of Sandwich for my much dreamed of Tuna Melt. I was NOT disappointed. Just as scrumptious as ever. Yum, Yum. Sorry I didn't save any for you....maybe next time and believe me, there will be several next times. This sandwich is very reasonable compared to other places. I know you are paying for the elaborate atmosphere but come on....$15.99for a hamburger at the Rain Forest Restaurant. You have to be kidding! Dasani water is $2.75 a bottle. The other day at Costco's you could get a bottled water for 25 cents! Want to talk about price gouging?!
Darkness has fallen and it's time to head home. Cory knows the back way so we really don't hit any bad traffic. We are very close to Disney World...only a few minutes away from the entrance to the grounds. Such a dramatic change from home in Shongo. The fancy, colorful light beams in the distance confirm we have made it back to Tropical Palms. We are located just
Star Wars store
Hot Air Balloon behind a shopping/ amusement park called Old Town and those lighted beams are part of some of their crazy, wild rides they have there. It's been a full day so it's time to settle in for the night. You can hear the fun amusements at Old Town/Fun Spot from our RV.....not enough to have us crawl up to them. You can go if you want but we're not leaving the light on for you. Let's hope it doesn't rain tomorrow but they predict it.....rats!
