Costco's
Love shopping A shopping trip is always on our agenda. Yippee. I know how much you like to shop, too. Buckle up, folks. First, we go to Wal-Mart (top on the fave list). This was a different Wal-Mart than our usual one but they all look the same and have the same stuff. From there, we head off to Costco's so Cory can get some domes for his earring aides. Huh? Huh? He made an appointment to have them and his ears checked in February. He likes the people who work in this department. They gave him a new lease on life. He can really hear what's happening around him. So good for him and for me. I always felt like I was his U.N. interpreter. Moving down the road, we stop at a Target. Bought nothing....yikes - I'm sick! Onward back to the RV. Earlier in the morning, the men who work with the park Internet had come down to check ours. Cory had hooked ours up but it wasn't working. They checked the outside connection and the signal was very low. They have to order a part so we wait. That's why I am not publishing daily. My blog requires the
The Ale Housr Bar
Lulu bellies up to the bar Internet so rather than eat up all our Verizon data, I am just cooling my jets. I'm sure you are sighing in disappointment...I can hear those sighs. Just hold on, "I'll be back!" Lulu has mist in her eyes. She's missing you. Wipe away those tears, Lulu. They are all still with us. She's so sensitive, 'member?
It's Wednesday (yesterday) and you know what that means! Lobster night at the Ale House. I have waited 8 months for this. Just like the rest of you. As with life, we note a few changes at this fave restaurant. Lobster is $16.95.....that's what it was at the end of the season last year. Remember it started out at $12.95! Inflation....Boo! Their menu does not have as many choices as last year and surprise: prices of each item have gone up by at least $1.00 or more. Typical! Just like everything else in this world. Rats! It didn't hold Lulu back one iota. She jumped onto that bar stool like a kangaroo. Ripped my lobster bib away from me, dove in and started cracking. She was in her glory land. I found this lobster to be somewhat tough. It was good....don't get
me wrong...but I've had better here. Next time....
I'm sure you are wondering why I haven't mentioned our good friends, Sam & Sandy. They arrived here in mid November. Still in their same site: one spot down from up. Mike is on one site between us. He's from Canada He's a fine fellow and is nice to be around. Many Canadians are here but they do not have a good dollar exchange this year....40 cents on the $1.00. Mike bought a new 5th wheel. What a gorgeous unit it is! Living the high life. You may think when we say we are camping that we are in tents and sleeping bags with dirt in our toes and teeth. Been there, done that....and it was fun at the time. We are far from that now. Our units are the ultimate in luxury. I would have no problem living in ours full time. They are fancy compact houses on wheels. Come on down and check us out. Our light is always on for you.
Oh, yeah....back to Sam & Sandy. They were not here when we arrived. Sniff. So much for them being called a great welcoming committee. This happy
traveling couple is on a cruise for this week....must be their 40th cruise by now. The King and Queen of the High Seas. The God Neptune calls them by their first names now. They should return this Sunday. We are looking forward to seeing them again. In the meantime, we have rented out their motor home to a large group of folks with huge earrings and nose rings. Women wear big, flowery, flowing skirts and men have tight, speedo pants plus capes. We get a tidy little income from it and Sam and Sandy will never know. The group leaves on Saturday. I'm sure Cory and I can cover up whatever damage they have done to their brand new motor home...that's what paint, duck tape and magic markers are for. Lets just keep it our secret. If you insist, we can split a small, very small percentage, of the income wealth we obtain with you.
Our friends, Nancy and Jimmy, stopped by today. Wonderful seeing them again. Cory and Jimmy met here at Tropical Palms. Small world: they both worked at Republic Steel in Buffalo.....but in different sections. They like sharing steel worker stories and memories. We got to
know them better on the cruise we went on last year from Tropical Palms. They sat at our dinning table. Jimmy kept our table in stitches...what a great sense of humor. Nancy is a sweet and kind lady. I wish you could meet them. Around departure time last year from our park, Jimmy had a stroke. Nancy got him to the hospital on a timely basis so the clot buster medication worked well and Jimmy has no deficits. He had carotid artery surgery and has come through it all just fine. As I told him "You can't keep a good man down" and he's proof of that. He praises his wife and rightly so. They are good people.
Tomorrow, we get our RV washed and waxed. They also do our car. We have had the same guy and his workers do our motor home every year. They do a very good job. Makes the RV look new again.....it is a 2008 Tiffin Phaeton. I will be so glad to have the car done. Being towed, it really gets filthy. It's like riding around in a mobile mud hut. I can't see a thing out the side windows. Talk about
RV detailing
Getting washed and waxed having only tunnel vision....that's what it's like. I know some of you have been complaining about it, too. Hang tight....all will be better tomorrow. Then you can turn your heads as we ride in the car. Just like in the Exorcist. Cory and I tried cleaning the RV one time at home. What a job.....exhausting and taxing. We swore then we would NEVER do that task again and we haven't. Makes me weary just thinking back on it. Now, if we had all of you helping...maybe we could do it. But then again. I don't think you would even want to think about it let alone try. Lulu would help but with her limited extremities, she can't do much. Maybe she could blow on it to dry it off. Lots of hot air from those perky lips. It's the thought that counts.....she's full of good thoughts. What a sweetheart.
Today was golf day for Cory. He will play most every Thursday with a group of people from Tropical Palms. They go to various golf courses in the area....some a distance away; others closer by like the Celebration (Disney town) golf course. Cory said it took him awhile to get
Golfball Guenter
Cory loves playing golf back in the swing of things but he enjoyed himself immensely. While Cory...a.k.a Golfball Guenter, is doing his thing, I busy myself around the RV....usually cleaning. A.K.A. Sweeping Sandy. Not like cleaning at home....takes no time at all plus no big furniture to move. It's all attached to the floor. Yeah! Lulu supervises and when she makes too many uncalled for remarks, a sock in her mouth solves that problem. Muffle, Muffle.
Calling it quits for tonight. Be sure and stay tuned for our next blog ....you are going to meet Dennis. I think Lulu is going to become a two timer. She loves Jeff but Dennis has praised her so highly, she commented to me that she has eyes for Dennis, too. What a fickle, fancy girl she is! What more can I say? Good- night, everyone.
