That’s how we find our days as more and more of our Tropical Palms friends arrive back “home”. The other day, Carolyn and Bill put out their welcome mat. We went over, with Linda & Dave, depicting ourselves as their Walmart greeting committee. Welcome back!
Nicki Jo arranged for an impromptu adult Halloween party. It was held at the far end of the Sandcastles. We all brought a dish to pass so the Golden Corral (the trough) closed for the night cause it couldn’t compete with the spread at this party. They lit a bonfire. It was pretty but no one moved to sit next to it.....the weather was still blistering hot and sticky. The fire’s heat would have made us think we had joined a sweat camp. There was a great turnout for the party. Many new faces have joined the group. We will have to wear name tags cause there’s no way we can remember everyone’s name.....at least in the beginning of all these intro’s. Richard Nixon had the ability to remember the name of each person he met. Amazing! Most of the time, all I can do is
greet someone with a Cheshire grin and nod. Moments into the party, I froze. I could barely catch my breath. I felt for my pulse. What had I done!! Chills ran through my body. We had left the RV with such eagerness and excitement that I left Lulu on her window perch. Noooooo. Sadly, yes! It was like the horrible sensation of leaving someone in a hot car. After feeling guilty and sad, I pulled myself together and realized Miss Lulu would be fine back at home. She doesn’t have to be the center of the party every time. She must learn that her presence isn’t always what makes the world go around....just some of the time. She’s licking her wounds! She’ll make me pay big time!
Sam had a friendly visitor the other day. While sitting outside our RV, Sammy the Squirrel decided he wanted to take a ride on Sam’s scooter. I don’t know why it thought that Sam was an Uber driver but it did. Zoom, Zoom. Squeal!
Today, we sought out a new adventure. We drove to Montverde, Florida for a festival they were having. It began yesterday. They had carnival rides, musicians, food
vendors, car show, animal (3) petting area, business and craft vendors. We loaded up our free bags with more freebies. Sam now has a year’s supply of hand sanitizer. He’s all set to go. As you can see, Lulu was there with us. She now sleeps with us so I can’t forget her again. Small price to pay. I found it interesting that there was a graveyard right next to all these festivities. A unique location for lost balloons to float over. Made it a kind of a content & serene place. Do you know how many dead people were in that cemetery? Guess.....All of Them! HaHa!
On our way home, we found ourselves stopping at various yard sales. The homes around Montverde were quite swanky. They put out stuff we would give as Christmas presents. We all found a treasure or two. Look at the fabulous, unique plate I bought. Do you like rabbits?
Closer to home, we circled around two local RV parks: Lake Magic & Sherwood Forest. They both are filling up, just like here at TP. The snowbirds have flown their northern coops and are landing here in Florida. Building their new nests. Settling
in for their winter respite. What a great way to watch Jack Frost and Old Man Winter perform their frigid tasks under the sunny Sunshine. They are only names here.....no reality to them at all except what we see on the TV news. Lulu is so happy she doesn’t have to wear mittens. As you know, she couldn’t anyway (no hands).
Of recent, a couple of our good friends here at TP have required to be hospitalized. We wait and watch for their healthy return. Sending healing prayers to both of them.
We’ll gather again soon. In the meantime, catch up on your rest and get your hiking shoes out. We still have many places to go and many things to see. Your Uber driver awaits your call.
ATTENTION Folks.....just in case you forgot. There are 19 photos for you to view. Remember to scroll way, way down to see them all. After the text, you see some advertisements, etc......scroll past them and you’ll find the rest of my photos. Sure don’t want you missing out on any of this dribble.
