We told you we would give you notice about the surprise we have in store for you. Sorry that I’m only giving you short notice. Got caught up with busy work. You need to start packing now. Yes, now! Time is running out.
Very early this Friday morning (tomorrow), our faithful foursome plus our stand-in Little Lulu are leaving on a cruise. Yippee. Hooray. Hallelujah! We will be sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas. We really enjoy Royal Caribbean’s Ships.....so big and beautiful. Our cruise begins January 18th and we return to the dock at Port Miami on January 27th. The party doesn’t stop there. Once back on tara firma, we are going to drive to Key West and stay 2 nights there. We figured we were that close, we would take the opportunity to add Key West to our adventures. I think you’ll like it. I know we will even though we have never been there. Sam & Sandy have though. We went as far as the middle of the Keys a few years back and liked that. Our return date to Tropical Palms is January 29th. Because this is a lengthy voyage, packing is a challenge.
Space is at a premium. It has taken me 2 days plus to get everything around and packed. Lovely Lulu has wised up that she’s not going (just way TOO big....her head) and has to give up her spot to cloth Little Lulu. Fortunately, they are friends or Lovely Lulu might not be the sweet cupcake we know her to be. Stay strong, Lulu. You’ll have your turn going with us somewhere fun. Quit that loud blubbering! Everyone can hear you. Maybe now you’ll decide to quit smoking. There you would be all alone on the big ship in their tiny smoking quarters. I know she wouldn’t like that....she’s a true people person.
Our itinerary includes: board the ship at the Port of Miami and head our to sea, 2 days of cruising, full day into the night at Aruba, next day (all day)in Curaçao, next full day in Bonaire, 2 days of cruising, full day in Bahamas, last day we return to Miami. WOW! It will seem like we are living forever on the high seas. What a dream! With all that time sailing and eating, they will have to take me off this grand ship through the
loading door and dock. Yikes! I know you will have the time of your life. Be sure and pack you dancing shoes. Let the party begin!
Because we are driving all the way to Miami, Cory figures we need to leave early. Especially because we are not familiar with this port. I guess our home departure is going to be 6:00 AM. That won’t bother Sam & Sandy cause they are early risers......but me, Hah! I could sleep all morning but I don’t. But 6:00 is going to be super early for me. I’m planning on sleeping in the car. Not good company but my body does not function without lots of sleep. Can hardly wait to try out the bed on the ship. Remember the bed/mattress on the Princess Cruise ship of last year? It was sooooo wonderful that we bought that mattress and topper for our home bed. Plus remember how long I stayed in that comfy bed on the cruise....many days & nights cause I got so sick. I have packed a huge bag of medications for every ailment that could strike. Of course, if it’s a viral bug: I’m doomed! But I’m thinking positive. I
will be well, I will be well, I will be well! I better be! It is an expensive sanitarium, otherwise.
So, be ready to go EARLY on tomorrow. The ship waits for no one. I’m sure you don’t want to follow behind on a floating inner tube. You will miss all the fun!
Speaking of fun. Sandy and I returned again for the second evening of Bunco. There were not nearly as many of us as the first time. It still was fun. I’m feeling more comfortable throwing the dice but keeping the score...forget it! That’s going to take me awhile. When Sandy is at my table, life is good cause she keeps the score for all of us. Diane got a Bunco early on in the evening. We were jealous but I was glad cause she was my partner. Go, Diane! Rachel is a fast learner. When we had to move to different tables, she was keeping score for her table. WOW! Good for you, Rachel. You are a winner, too. Sandy was a money winner this time because she had the most Bunco’s. Luckeeeeeeee! Congratulation! Me, I had one Bunco and could wear the lei one
time but that was all. No crown available this time. Rats! I so wanted to be an Hawaiian Queen. I was only a flower girl! I’ll take it though.
The other day, friends who used to live at Tropical Palms, came by in their borrowed electric cart. Lucky them! It was wonderful seeing Judy & Jeff and Elaine & Lee. They are staying in a cottage here at TP for a week. Just like old times. We miss them not being here full time. Since we are leaving Friday, we won’t get to see much of them. Rats. I’m sure you recognize Jeff. He’s Lulu’s boyfriend. They have been together for years even though her eyes have strayed on occasion. Jeff is a forgiving soul. Jeff has to take responsibility for something though and it’s not good! Lulu learned how to smoke from Jeff. Yes, that’s right.....her boyfriend, Jeff! Why? Cause he smokes and Lulu thought he looked cool. Why does she think she looks cool? Her chain smoking ends up with the cigarette smoke coming out of the hole under her neck. That’s not cool....that’s weird. Hopefully, Jeff will realize that she has a lot of baggage with
this latest obsession. Please Jeff, use your manly seductiveness to convince her to find pleasure in just you and not the cigarettes. Fingers crossed (ours)....remember Lulu doesn’t have any.
The ship horns will be calling to us soon so I’ll close for now. You have a lot to do with your packing. We have your passports and tickets. You’ll get your life jacket onboard. Just remember, I don’t buy the pricey internet on the ship so our blogs will be on hold until our return. I’ll keep record of it all so you won’t miss anything. You just won’t get to read about it for a couple weeks. Hey! Was that clapping I just heard?
