Happy New Year, Everyone. May it be the best year ever for all of you.
Everything here on the ranch is getting even better. Each day, more and more of the Tropical Palms Family drive back through the old homestead fence. ??Home, Home on the Range!??. Welcome back, everyone!
Carole & George were the first friends we saw upon their return. So nice to see them again. Glad you arrived safe and sound. John & Jeanne followed us in their car as we walked down their roadway towards their cute cottage home. So nice to know you are back with all your friends. Ray has returned with his classy sports car. A real beauty! Nice ride, Ray. Dave and Linda flew back from spending Christmas with their family. Wonderful! John and his mom, Marie, stopped by the other day. Great seeing them both. Pretty soon, everyone who is returning should all be here to make the gang complete. Hail, Hail, the gangs all here!
Cory and I heard music emanating from the pool area. Had to check it out so found ourselves a seat poolside. The DJ was very entertaining and kept all the kids busy having fun
in and out of the pool. Our friend, Rita, was enjoying herself immensely. She has a good time no matter where she is. She is a happy person. Cory bought me a yummy banana daiquiri which I managed to spill half of it on the table. Rats! Cut me off! Lynn saw us sitting at the one end of the pool and asked us to join their group. A festive group it was. We shared some laughs while having a good time just being with them all.
Before we knew it, it was time again to think about eating. It seems to come up so often. Our decision was for the four of us to walk up to Old Town and have pizza at Flippers. We did and it was delicious. It was Cruise Night with all the old, classic cars. We meandered down through all the shining beauties. What tender loving care is given to these remarkable old cars. Our friends, Jerry & Carol, had their beautiful blue corvette on display! A real looker! The evening was perfect and better yet, ‘cause we were sharing the time together.
Today began like the others: coffee in the lobby.
WOW! What a difference it makes when all the friends congregate together now. It is like a flash mob. After a while, the Tropical Palms staff moved us into a back room. We had been so loud they couldn’t hear their phones or talk with their customers at the desk. Maybe they will have us gather in the back from now on....we’ll see.
Now what? It’s Monday and Bar Harbor has their specials on Monday and Tuesday. Sounds good to us. Sounds like a plan. They also had their cooked “take out” whole lobsters for $5.99. Jeepers....what a steal! Cory remembered the way. You need at GPS to find this place. I know you remember it from before....the outdoor eatery where you can get really inexpensive, delicious seafood meals. Haaaay! What’s this? A line just like Disneyworld, winding around half of the building. We had not seen this before. Phew! It was the take-out line for the cheap lobsters! We were able to just go in the front door to the very small service room. We ordered our lunch. While doing so, Sandy asked if she could get her “to-go” lobsters and they accommodated her. We did the same.
Otherwise, we would have had to wait an hour in this mega crowd of hungry, lobster loving people. I ordered a lobster roll for lunch. Oh, to die for. Packed with fresh lobster meat....came with fries and cole slaw. Ate all of the lobster roll but not all of the sides.....just too much! Can you believe it! Cory had their shrimp dinner which he said was the best ever. Sandy had the same as me while Sam ordered the fish dinner. The fish he got was the size of a baseball glove! Lunch tomorrow!
Because we were in the area, we went to Costco’s. Oh, my.....everyone in Florida had the same idea. It was packed! I have never seen it this crowded before. Just like how tight the parks can be with people. Holy Moly.
Tonight we are going to a New Years Eve Party here at Tropical Palms. While we were home, Diane alerted us about this party and got our tickets for us. Thank you kindly, Diane. You are always looking out for all of us. You a such a good person.
We have to get ready now to ring in the New Year. It
will be different than our usual routine: trying to watch the ball drop in bed but missing it all cause we always fall asleep. Hopefully, we won’t fall asleep on the party table.
We wish each one of you a Happy and a Healthy New Year for 2019. Lulu does, too!
