Monday, April 16th, was Sam & Sandy’s 58th Anniversary. Now that’s really something to celebrate! Congratulations and Happy Anniversary to our dear friends. They invited us to join them for their celebratory meal. The restaurant de choix was The Cheesecake Factory....oh, yes! We reflected back a few years (2015) to the bet we lost over the Super Bowl with Sam. Cory and I had to dress up as limo drivers and hung a sign in our car window that read “Limo”. We escorted this winning couple to this same Cheesecake Factory. Here we guided them inside.....announcing the Foreman’s were present and no picture taking was allowed....and no looking at them either! Hah...of course, everyone was starring at them trying to figure out what famous people were amongst them. It was too funny. We played it up throughout the meal and departure.
This special day 4/16/2018, we were honored to be with this loving and devoted couple. I snapped their picture as they had a make out session in the booth. Smoooch! Excellent service with delicious food at this classy restaurant. Cory arranged for Sam’s favorite dessert be delivered to them. The waitress brought a huge dish of hot fudge sundae
with extra chocolate fudge sauce on the side. Oh, my. We all tried some of it but most of it was enjoyed by Sam. We were so full from our meal. Sam has that hollow leg we all wish we had. He did justice by it. Good for you, Sam.
We had to work off our massive meal so went to Costco’s which was close by. Picked up a few things and partook of their free samples.....even though we were still so stuffed and full. What’s one more tid-bit? But Sam had to pass them by....you have to be kidding! He was filled up to the brim with the hot fudge sundae. It finally caught up with him! Unreal!
Also in the neighborhood was IKEA. We had not made our way here this year until now. Lots of walking in this massive store. Sandy took a little rest until Sam came along and started grabbing her feet. Hope that’s not a fetish of his! They headed down another aisle and announced they were joining the carnival circuit as snake charmers. You have to be kidding! You just never know what they’ll come up with next. Two wild people.
Speaking of wild people....Cory found himself caught up in a net.....the insane asylum staff finally captured him! We said we would keep him under control so they left him with us. It’s a lot of work taking on this responsibility....we needed a break so.....Because we had the Family Ikea cards, we sucked down their various gourmet coffees for free.....tasty. But still not easy to find any room in our guts for too many.
Not too sure how romantic this day was for Sam & Sandy but we had fun. And somehow, we managed to fill the whole day well into the evening. Just goes to show you how time flies when you are having a good time.....especially when it’s spent with good friends.
Today, I went back to my eye doctor for my post-op checkup on my most recent operative eye...the left one. He, of course, checked my right eye, too. He said both were excellent. Of course, I am still on the ritual eye drop regimen. That is getting old fast but I still have many days to go....so I must quit whining. Zip it! I’ll see him again in November, 2018 when we return here to
Florida for our winter respite.
This evening, our foursome boarded our golf cart and trolled around the park. Looks like some Boy Scouts have pitched tents in the back area of the park. All matching. Or else it’s a huge family that like to look alike and maintain their privacy with their own personal tent. No one was around. Many folks have left our park to head home....you can see for miles in some areas where before the varied recreational vehicles blocked your view. We are heading out this Sunday and going over to a Tampa. We will park in the parking lot of Lazy Days for an 8:00 AM appointment on Monday. All we will leave behind is an empty space at site 317 and fond memories.
We have started packing up our exterior decorations and furniture. I’ve stored away the knick-knacks and decor from inside. Starting to look pretty barren around here. This is the time we kind of dread. It means our fun and festive Florida times are ending for another season. We shall have to wait many months before we rejoin our Florida friends again. I must remember what Dr.Seuss said ” Don’t cry
because it’s over, Smile because it happened!” Yes, good idea and advice. We’ll go with that. So, folks...time for you to start packing up also. We’ll be taking a LONG road trip soon. Lulu is packing her stuff but slowly. She never rushes anything. She’s torn about staying and leaving. She’s has to ride with us no matter her desires....she has no legs to run behind and try to catch up. There still will be more chatter going on through our blogs but they are soon coming to a close. “All Good Things Must Come To An End”. I hear your sobs.....stay strong and Happy Trails! Lots of photos so do the routine.😎😎😎
