Key West
Our campsite setup in the sand We got up and our room was a disgusting mess. We didn’t have too much recollection of what happened last night. We packed up our stuff and loaded the van when Jon arrived. He then mentioned how he woke up, naked on the bathroom floor somehow, we thought it was hilarious, he was in bed when we left last night. With our new mascot Candy in the front seat we made our way to Key West. To get to Key West we needed to cross a series of bridges which connected each island until you get to the furthest most town Key West. Seeing those bridges was an awesome sight, water either side of you and in front of you just constant bridges. We arrived at our campsite in the early afternoon and set up all our tents. We were setup right next to the water in the sand, it was a fantastic place to have a campsite.
We grabbed our gear and headed out to the town of Key West to have a look around. Jon parked the van down a side street and we walked down the main street going in and out of shops having a good

Arriving in Key West look around. Some of us went to have lunch at a place called ‘Crabby Dick’s’ and relax, it was a hot day and we wanted out of the sun for a cool drink. We tried the famous Key Lime Pie, which is a very popular dessert originating from Key West which was delicious. After lunch a few of us went to find an internet café and spent a while catching up with friends and family. When we were all done, we headed back to the van and back to the campsite to make a start on some dinner. But before long the wind started to pick up and it began to rain a little. Twenty minutes later it was pouring down like mad and the wind was so incredibly strong. We struggled to put up a cover so we could continue to cook but it blew away. The pegs in our tents began to come out and soon enough one of them was thrown into the van. I got in mine and Dave’s to stop it from flying off and was actually worried that I was going to go with it. It was so incredibly windy that the tents began

View from our campsite before we weather changed to rip to pieces, so we took them down and just stuffed them into the trailer. We grabbed what was left of dinner and headed for the undercover games area where we made dinner. I’ve never seen such wind and rain come in so quickly, it destroyed our campsite and we had nowhere to sleep tonight.
We actually thought it was quite funny, but some of the group were just very frustrated at having nowhere to sleep. We had a quiet night tonight, did some washing, had a few drinks and relaxed. Some of the group were still able to put their tents up, but Dave and mine was damaged. Dave, Hannah and I slept in the van for the night while everyone else managed to either put up a tent or share with someone else. It was strange that we had so much trouble with our tents, yet the other group who setup camp right next to us had no problems at all.
