I have 3 small things to say... Firstly, Big happy birthdays to Master Garland. Tim, a Blue Peter badge is on its way to you. Secondly, Rasta Rob came out big time last night. For those of you who haven't met the Rasta, think my Jekyll and Hyde sort of thing when I get drunk, and the ensuing carnage. I think I have to go and apologise to half of Poland. Thirdly, Karol YOU LYING BASTARD. It is NOT true that the way you chat up Polish girls is to put your hand on their arse and give it a squeeze. Damn you! I'm going to hide in my room now.... read more

I wasn't actually going to write anything today - but stuff happened yesterday! We saw big-ass lizards when we were walking back from the beach. There are loads of little ones milling around all the time, but these were the kind you only see in zoos. They were next to this pond by the side of the road. I like wildlife-spotting (will definitely post pics of these guys and the peacocks when I get the chance). Last night we were joined by another couple in our room. One belly dancer left in the morning, so there were still three of us in a four-person room, but then we were told that two more people were coming in. One of the poor lads had to sleep on some air bed thing. (Oh, Americans don't understand me when ... read more

I have just realised that I've hardly mentioned the travelling we've done recently. The flight from Long Island to Orlando was fine - American budget airlines give you food and drink for free! We also managed to get a public bus to the hotel so it wasn't as expensive as they wanted it to be. Our Greyhound journey from Orlando to Ft Lauderdale was fine - these 5 and a half hour journeys don't seem so bad over here. It's good to get to see their cars and stuff too. And everyone's either smoking or on their phones when driving - which shocked me (I thought it was bad at home - it's much worse here). I also haven't mentioned our current roommates - two girls who are here for a bellydancing convention (they have 8 ... read more

So second full day in Fort Lauderdale now. Yesterday was nice, got some food in and went for a walk down to the beach (much further than we thought!!!) Was very nice down there, looks like a holiday programme with the crystal clear waters ect. Very busy too, but I suppose it was a saturday. There were so many family's around having bbq's, I think me and Vicky were both very jealous. Its cool the way they do it though, they have picnic benches and bbq on the top half of the beach, so anyone can just turn up and use one. We're kinda short on beach towels (traveling light) so we didn't get to sunbathe or swim yet but we're saving up to buy them so maybe today or tomorrow. We may head to a ... read more

I was really annoyed about the computer situation in Orlando. It would have cost us $12 to go online for an hour! We had to quickly go on to book this hostel, but unfortunately that was all we could bring ourselves to shell out for. Those Disney prices are ridiculous anyways - we got charged a resort fee of $7 a day for the facilities which we hardly used! I did have a nice time at Disney though - loved the Monsters Inc laughter show and the random Lilo and Stitch thing (don't have time to describe it, the beach is beckoning. Don't want to ruin it for anybody who happens to go either!) I found Americans who understood me yesterday! The bus drivers - we had to change busses three times to get to the ... read more

A bit of Bob Marley for those who didn't already know! Finally on a free computer so managed to notice I had an unpublished blog entry from NY. It should be there for all to see now, not sure why it didn't go up to begin with? So, Florida now and we're in a hostel in Ft. Lauderdale. Got a greyhound down yesterday from Orlando (will do another retrospective on that asap, hotel had internet, but it was $12 an hour!) Arrived yesterday evening after a 5 and a half hour journey. Starting to get used to that though so I didn't mind too much. We figured we'd walk to the hostel as it was only about 15-20 blocks, but didn't realise how awkward a city this was! There are rivers ect running through it EVERYWHERE ... read more
