Sanibel's little sister, Captiva, was more or less "Siamese Twined" to her sibling when we first visited here in 2004. Hurricane Charlie (I think) closed up the inlet. Now, thanks to tons of sand removal and dredging; the inlet once again, separates these two. It's beautiful here. Great shops and galleries, wonderful restaurants, casual and laid back with a Gulf of Mexico beach that stretches the length of the island. We jeeped up twice this trip - once to the public beach near the Sea Island Plantation with a stop at the "Tween Islands" beaches; and once for a beach day with lunch in front of the Mucky Duck!
