DAWN IN PORT CANAVERAL The show last night was entertaining, a comic, an aerial act and a song from Graham, our cruise director. This is one very talented fellow and Royal Caribbean is lucky to have him. He appeals to all age demographics and is always charming. Up early to film his morning TV show and up late to host one of the games or activities. Dawn is breaking over the Port and the Disney Dream is outside the window. MaryLu just left to join her excursion to the Cape Kennedy Space Center. Her flight is at 5:00 pm. I am just enjoying my last day on board. Soon I’ll shower and have breakfast then I must leave by 9:00. My flight is a 3:00 so I’ll have a wait at the airport. I really enjoyed ... read more

The month that I've declared will be the greatest month onboard ever has gotten off to a great start! This last week, my sister, Alexis, and brother-in-law, Kevin, came to cruise with me - for the first time! I was so excited to see them the day they arrived. I couldn't sleep the night before because I was so excited! I was like a little kid. We really packed our port days with fun. First, in Cozumel, we went to Park Royal, the resort that I love going to with the crew. A couple of my friends - Duain and Nicole - joined us. We spent the day lying in the sun, hanging in the pool, eating, drinking and doing the odd activity run by the resort staff. The highlight of the day was the water ... read more

This was always a must see for us and luckily for us there is a kennel on site so that we could spend all day here. This was a good thing as we wound up needing not only the whole day but also three hours the next day to finish what we couldn't see on the first day. What can I say except this place is amazing? Chris said right off the bat that while he had seen shuttles taking off on tv before he hadn't realized just how big they actually were. Yet despite their size if you look inside the space capsule that astronauts return home in and there is very little space. Most of what you see on the rocket or shuttle is devoted to the engines, the fuel and the thrusters needed ... read more

The holiday season has hit the Dream! It can be really difficult being away from home, family and friends during the holidays. But this year, between work keeping me busy and friends keeping me happy, it has been a good time. We've broken from our regular itineraries and did a 9 day cruise that included both Christmas and New Years. It was extremely popular, the ship booked solid and tons of families. So work in the teen club has been very busy. In addition to all of the teens we have onboard, we've been having technical crises all the time . . . in the last week we've had a fire, a flood and a complete power outage - all in our DJ booth! I'm so happy to have Kristina here as my co-director. We keep ... read more

I got a visit with my family today! My Mom, step-dad Lee, sister Melanie and her boyfriend Andrew are all in Cape Canaveral for a warm getaway and staying at a friend’s condo only 10 minutes from the cruise terminal. So early this morning I was up and off the ship to get picked up by my parents. They took me back to the condo where Mel and Andrew were getting breakfast sorted. We had breakfast together and talked excitedly about my recent news that I’ll be spending next summer cruising in Europe. After a bit of visiting at the condo and a phone call home to talk to my other sister, Alexis, we headed back to the ship. I’d gotten permission to bring them all onboard to see the ship! They have all cruised before ... read more

Day 9- the best day!!!  Today we checked out of our luxurious apartment and had to take my cuz and his wife to the airport... Wahhh oh well life goes on!!!  So we go to the airport and I wait with my cuz's until my mum and dad hired a car. As we are bored we decided to do some ball room dancing and jiving moves! In the meantime all these people are watching and walkig past buti didn't care as I was having fun. Then the moment came! My mum and dad arrived with the keys! Picture it. Slow mo with dramatic music as the light shines behind em! Ok it was nothing like that but I need to spice this up somehow! So off we go to the car! Now remember all my Australian ... read more

From Orlando it takes a little over an hour to drive to Kennedy Space Centre. An organised trip was going to cost us $95 each including the coach fare, but doing it by ourselves proved much better. We paid just $40 each for our our tickets and that gave us 2 days of exploration plus entry to the Astronaut Hall of Fame. We didn't do everything in 2 days so quite what we would have managed to see on a day trip from Orlando, we don't know! Anyway, Space, the final frontier and all that. It all begins with a rocket launch. Guess what - we saw one!!!! The new SpaceX rocket launched while we were there and it was amazing to see it. This rocket may well replace the Space Shuttle in taking astronauts to ... read more

I'm typing this entry at 9:15am, the morning after the launch, as I sit in the condo overlooking Cocoa Beach on another perfect day. So much has happened in the last 48 hours it's going to be difficult to recall it all, but here goes... We joined the tour bus at 8:15am just up the road. We were booked on one of the Kennedy Space Centre (KSC) tours, but part of the Administrator's Guest group, which meant we had access to some pretty cool stuff. First stop was the International Space Station (ISS) Processing Building. This building is large enough to hold the entire ISS - the size of a football field including end zones - and is where they've basically laid out the ISS in pieces before putting it into orbit piece by piece. We ... read more

Well it is all pixie dust, mickey ears and princess tea parties this week. I am back aboard the Disney Magic and automatically I want to head down to the bowels of the ship to crew quarters and the girls remind me I am a passanger and can even use the glass elevators! Such decadence!! The trip from DisneyWorld to the port in Cape Canaveral was long as I had to go back to the airport and then out to the port as I was staying in the dodgey brothers budget resort at DisneyWorld but the thought of seeing my friends from crew days kept the time at bay. I met up with Kerry first prior to boarding the ship, (Kerry was my roomie during my crew days who is from country England - much more ... read more

Wow, it has been a long time since I posted any travels. I have done lots of cool trips since I have been back in the States. I recently started my International MBA at UMSL. So, that is taking up a lot of my time. I am taking five classes this semester. Then, I finish with two next semester and then I guess I am done. I get to start looking for a real job. Well, I have had a fantastic time being in school this past year. I really thank my Hot Wife, Mary for letting it happen. What a doll!!!! Next, I guess my lovely wife and I went on a vacation....well, for her anyway. We flew on Southwest down to Orlando, where we rented a car and went to see her mom and ... read more
