Travel so farI want to start by mentioning one thing I forgot yesterday, which is that it is about 94 degrees here plus the humidity here in Washington, D.C. Let's just say its airconditioning is a necessity...Today was very full day of activities. We started by meeting for breakfast and then beginning with a three hour meeting, which included introductions, expectations, and overview of the Fulbright program. We then had lunch and headed to the Woodrow Wilson Center (The only president with a Ph.D) for a meeting and lecture on Canada and Mexico in relation to the United States. One of the speakers by the last name of Wentraub, was one of the creators of NAFTA. His perspective on North American relations gave an optimistic view of the future of the three countries working together. The day ended with a formal dinner at the Canadian Embassy. The embassy has one of the best spots in D.C., and in fact faces the Senate House. The meetings and lectures have been incredibly insightful to the vast culture I will experience on my visit to each country.

Primero quiero mencionar que la temperatura en Washington, D.C. esta a 94 grados y mas la humedad, puedo decir que el aire condicionado es muy necesario... Hoy estaba muy lleno de actividades. Empezamos el dia con desayuno y continuamos con una junta de tres horas. En esta junta tuvimos introducciones, metas, y un breve resumen de la beca Fulbright. Luego almorzamos y fuimos al Centro Woodrow Wilson (Que es el unico presidente con un doctorado) para una platica sobre la relacion de Mexico y Canada con E.E.U.U. Uno de los presentadores con el apellido Weintraub, fue uno de los creadores de NAFTA. Su perspectivo de la relaciones en Norte America me dio mucho esperanza de los tres paises trabajando juntos un dia. El dia termino con una cena en la embajada de Canada. La embajada esta en uno de los mejores lugares en Washington, D.C. e incluso esta frente del "Senate House". Las juntas de hoy me han dado un vistazo a la cultura que tendre oportunidad de ver en mi viaje a cada pais.

Hi Ren, I had no idea that Woodrow Wilson was the only president with a Ph.D. Thanks for that tidbit. I cannot wait to learn more from your travels. ENJOY!
