$9 per ticket is valid for unlimited travel by Metro from 9.30 am to 3am
Left home with DB at 8:15 to Shady Grove metro. Had to wait in the station for 40 mins. since day pass can be used only after 9:30. It was a long, cold wait..there is no food, no rest rooms and no chairs to sit at the metro stations. At 9:30 took metro to Fedral Triangle. Entered Reagan Trade Center just to use the rest room..heavy security..they asked for passports..which we did not have..anyway they let us in after some scrutiny. From there walked to the Capitol building which we could see only from a distance. Can't get pass security and there were long queues for that. Although the sun was out it was very cold because of the chill wind. After taking some snap shots at the Capitol walked to the Washington Monument. From there headed for the Lincoln Memorial by walk. On the way saw World War 2 Memorial, a recent addition and the memorials for Korean War and Vietnam War. After Lincoln Memorial took a long walk to the nearest metro and went to the Union Metro Station. Union Station is huge and has lots of shops and eateries. R had decided to have Subway sandwich for lunch

Our starting point and return point for our daily tour to city museums
which we did..unfortunately we forgot to tell him to put in a vegetable patty..and so had a plain veg. delite..bad luck for R. After subway lunch had a smoothie and took the metro to Chinatown to see the Spy Museum. Tickets were $20 per head so decided to skip it. Went to a Museum just opposit the Spy Museum...the American Museum for Art and Potraiture. It was good. They even served free tea and coffee at the Cafe. R got Hot Chocolate which was meant only for children. We had an hours time on hand, but decided to spend that time in the same museum. We had had enough of museums in the past 3 days...At 4pm left the museum and as usual took the metro to Shady Grove and joined DB who came just one train behind us and came home. Night dinner at a spanish restaurant called Jaleo, and cupcakes from GeorgeTown. The cup cakes were really yummy. After dinner headed for Shanthi's place. Again continued discussions of previous night with more discussions that continued until 12midnight.

Corrections
We saw the White House today, not the Capitol.
