Camping isn't all about roughing it. There are some gorgeous beachfront resorts that offer fun in the sun, outside of the traditional wooded sites you may be used to. And you don't need to travel too far south to find some of the best campgrounds around.
The Resort at Massey's Landing is located in Millsboro Deleware, just a 30-minute drive from the beautiful Rehoboth Beach and boardwalk. Even if you never leave the grounds you'll find countless activities and accommodations for you and your family to enjoy.
Let's take a look at what makes Massey's Landing a camping paradise you need to see to believe. The Pool
At Massey's Landing, a pool day means fun for the whole family. While the kids enjoy their side of the pool that slopes like a beach shoreline, parents can indulge in the swim-up bar. Nothing says summer like a frozen drink. A short wall separates the kid's side of the pool from the grown-ups. Adults can watch their children swim while perched on one of the bar's underwater stools.
Craving a snack to compliment your Pina Colada
? No problem. The Jackspot is only a few steps away from the poolside. Kids will love the gourmet pizzas and burgers while parents can dine on fish tacos and salads. If you prefer lighter fare, check out the Marketplace located just off the main lobby. Here you'll find treats from candy and chips to soda and iced tea. End the day with a visit to Happy Jacks. Perk up with coffee and a fresh pastry or let the kids indulge in frozen treats like ice cream and milkshakes. The Beach
If you prefer a sandy beach to a lounge chair near the pool, you're in luck. Massey's Landing has its own private bay right on site!
A small beach that offers huts for shade, a tiki bar for cold beverages and lite snacks and plenty of sand for building castles. If you want to try your hand at water sports, take a pick from several activities Massey's Landing has to offer. Test your balance and core strength on a paddleboard, rent a kayak or canoe or play a round of golf. Campers can bring their crab traps and fishing poles down to the dock to see what's biting. The Boardwalk
The Rehoboth Beach boardwalk is only a 30-minutes drive from the resort. If you don't feel like driving, don't worry. Massey's Landing offers shuttle service to and from the boardwalk. You can spend the entire day relaxing on the beach or playing games on the boardwalk. When you're ready to head back to camp, just check the shuttle schedule and take the bus or van to the resort. Transportation leaves from the campground parking lot and drops you off at the boardwalk's bus stop. Enjoy hours of shopping, snacking, and fun in the sun. Accommodations
Massey's Landing welcomes campers from all walks of life - tent campers, people towing RVs, and those who prefer to rent a cozy beach cottage. If you have a camping trailer, the standard RV sites can accommodate campers up to 45-feet in length. Visitors will love the luxury of full hook-up sites which include 50, 30 or 20 amp service, water, sewer, cable, and Wi-Fi. Each one has two-bedrooms, one bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, screened-in porch, patio and a fold-out double sofa for added comfort.
