Hey everyone! Sorry I have not posted an update in a while. Well I have been home for aweek. Its nice being in a familiar place, seeing friends and family, and all the small things I missed too, like drving, wings, breakfast burritos etc. Missing Europe already though and all the people I met. And being home means I have to go back to reality, which sucks. Good news I got a job at my old work. I'll work there until the end of the year probably which will give me time to think what to do next. I might go back to school, or I might try to get a job away from northern colorado at least. Here is a quick summary of the last two weeks i was in Europe. After munich i went ... read more

We loved Wyoming and almost bought an RV lot in Star Valley, south of Jackson Hole. With whitewater rafting, golfing, fishing, swimming and pickleball, we thought it a perfect place for the family to come visit us. However, when I found out it closes October 1st due to snow and doesn't open until mid-May...due to snow...need I say more! We moved through Utah, camping at Bear Lake State Park. Due to heavy rain and flooding from mountain snow the 2 mile beach was under water along with 20-year old treees. This didn't take from the beauty of the lake itself. The road out of there was switch-back, hairpin turns. Yikes! We met new friends parked next to us in Utah, Paul and Mary. They are Escapees who bought their Holiday Rambler at the same place we ... read more

We travelled 520 miles to Loveland, Colorado. The temperature started dropping rapidly from the 100s to the 70s. It was wonderful! We stopped at the Visitor's Center and enjoyed a cool breeze with storm clouds in the distance. As we approached Loveland, we viewed the mountains in the distance before the sun set. Unfortunately, it looks like a forest fire in the pass. Hope we get through okay tomorrow. We used Hilton Honors points to stay free at the Embassy Suites Spa Hotel. It has a very big and very busy lobby that Graycee pranced through as everyone commented on her and wanted to pet her. After "road sandwiches" having dinner in our room was wonderful. Tonight we are doing a late swim and jacuzzi. Tomorrow - Wyoming and Utah... read more

Loveland Pass After a brief stop at Georgetown, we headed west on I-70. My longing for exhilarating driving was answered by the Loveland Pass highway sign. Anything with the word “Pass” in this mountain region means driving ecstasy. Without a GPS, I took the exit ramp. I didn’t care where this US-6 West would lead me. All I knew, I was about to experience the mountain road that would wake up all my senses. Route US-6 is a wide nicely paved ascending two-lane undivided highway with ample emergency lanes on both sides. The highest point at the pass is 11990 ft. I mesmerized the picturesque view of the mountains and valleys before me. The vista point at the Loveland pass offers the breathtaking grandiose view. No matter which direction I looked, I saw hundreds of mountains ... read more

Greetings! Just a quick post to let everyone know that i am back in the states. I didnt have the opportunity to update my travel blog as much as i wanted to. but I would love to tell you all the stories that i have gathered over the past couple months. it seems that there are simply just too many to tell! my flight was great, i got a free seat upgrade, and rode home with tons of legroom. other than the crying babies, everything was as good as an airplane ride can be. London was ok, simply put i thought it was a boring city. but seeing Big ben, and the tower bridge was neat to see with my very eyes. (although london bridge is very un-spectacular.) the beer was good, the cider even better. ... read more

Hi all. Well we finished our marathon drive yesterday from Albuquerque, NM (about 9 hours of driving) to reach my Aunt & Uncle's place in Livermore, CO. It's about 40 minutes northwest of Fort Collins, CO. A special thanks to Dave and Lynette for letting us stay here while they are staying at our home in University Place until sometime in April of next year. We had a really awesome time in Albuquerque with our friends Darin and Rochelle Sand, Bruce and Valerie Altman, and Wendy Vander Aa. Their hospitality and love were very evident the whole time we were there. Valerie set us up at her apartment complex's "corporate apartment" which was really nice and like staying at a home, which had a washer and dryer, which was a real blessing after being on the ... read more

With a 26' Penske, in obnoxious yellow, we left Carlsbad, CA on the 15th of June an headed for the great Rocky Mountains. 1100 miles later, we arrived, exhausted, in Loveland, CO. We plan to set up a life here in Northern Colorado to the east of the wind scoured peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park. But before we pump out kids.... a trip!!!!! We leave the 30th for Hawaii to see Allan's brother Aaron on the island of Oahu. 2 weeks after, we take off with our one way tickets to Bangkok, Thailand. That's where the planning stops. We have visas for India and no return flight. Around the world? South East Asia? China and Japan? Only time will tell......... Until then, we have a ridiculous list to take care of. There simply isn't enough ... read more

Reece will be guest-authoring this entry because of his uncanny love for the seemingly boring, but beautiful state of Kansas. Kansas, the sunflower state. Sunflowers seen during trip: 0. Ever since the early stages of planning for this trip, Caitlin and I had a prejudice towards Kansas that entailed a long, straight, monotonous drive on Interstate 70. Originally we planned to simply drive from St. Louis directly to Denver all in one day. When it comes down to it, that is what we did essentially, but to me it has been the best drive so far. Instead of becoming desensitized to the beauty of what is considered fly-over country, I became more and more distraught at the fact that I would probably never see a place like Kansas in person ever again. Eastern Kansas, surprisingly, is ... read more
