Monday. Colorado Springs, Colorado. After a leisurely breakfast and conversation at a Dunkin Donuts with a nice mountain view, the sight-seeing began. First stop was Manitou Springs which is a hippie enclave at the base of Pikes Peak. We did a little walking, a little window-shopping, and a little relaxing in this nice little park with a stream running through it and lots of shade! To illustrate how friendly the people in Colorado truly are, a man with very few teeth added an offer of nose candy to the usual greeting in passing. Needless to say, we declined and took the long way out of the park to avoid him and his "wife." It's really quite hilly in the mountains... we walked up a stairway that looked like it might lead to a little path (but ... read more

After leaving Aaron’s sister’s home in Ohio on Wednesday afternoon, we traveled in the direction of St. Louis as long as we could stand to be on the road. As night closed in our eyelids began to become heavier so we stopped in the middle of Illinois for the night. The next day consisted of 800 miles of driving. We started by completing the route to St. Louis where we made a stop to take a few quick pictures of the Gateway Arch and more importantly take a tour of the Budweiser brewery! During the tour we got to see all sorts of memorabilia in a miniature Budweiser museum, the world famous Clydesdales, the brewing and bottling operations, and had a few samples of the freshest beer possible. Aaron even got a certificate for participating in ... read more

Hi Everyone, After leaving the Rocky Mountains National Park we headed for Boulder, Colorado. We had beautiful weather around 80 degrees, so I can finally start working on my tan. Boulder was a nice city, with lots of quaint little shops. The city itself is very clean and seems to be extremely health conscious. Everyone rides a bicyle everywhere, it's a little disarming, they are abslouetly everywhere. Jumping out in front of cars or on the sidewalk. Coming from the northeast, it's quite a change. There are so many alternative, health, or western philosphy stores (a little too earthy crunchy for my taste). So far I haven't really been impressed with the people in Colorado. I'm sure that they are all fantasitic people but to me it seems as though they are a little snobby and ... read more

we were taking a short cut, but actually ending up on a dusty, steep, winding road that used to be a rail road to take gold from cripple creek. We negotiated the tight corners and rock tunnels with true pioneer spirit. However, the steep drops, high altitude and intenses work out was all too much for the bobos van and so at the top he gave us time to enjoy the surrounding beauty while he took 5. Then we drove to colorado springs which on the suface was a nice, clean city surrounded by huge snowy mountains. It was a boiling day in the beautiful city however it was hard to ignore the druggy's and beggar's. Despite the beautiful surroundings the only campsite we could find was sandwiched between a 24hour drive thru MacDonalds and a ... read more

sorry we havent blogged for ages, its hard to find internet access in middle america. The road trip got off to a troubled start with a wrong turn slappin us in a horror movie-We drove up a winding home-made redneck road and got chased up it by two aggressive dogs living on a dumpsite...Then had to sleep with the blair witch in the middle of a forest. It was a great experience though to see a real redneck dwellings even if they weren;t pleased to see the bobo's van! Through west virginia to Ohio, just masses of space we found a trailer park to sleep in. However, we didn't get much sleep as there was kareoke(?) in the Blue Barn...by the 4th day, in missouri, the bobo's van had a minor heart atttack due to old ... read more
