Castle Mountain
This is a most interesting mountain, from a volcano about 5000 years ago, could see volcanic debris for 20 miles Here are some pictures from our first full day.
Today was a full day. We went to an art fair in the morning - by accident, we were going for a walk by the lake near our lodge. The quality of the art was out of this world. They also had wine tasting, which we thoroughly enjoyed on a Sunday morning. We must have, we ordered a case of Austrian wine to be shipped to our home. We had a simple lunch and got on our Jeep tour. Wolf was the name of the driver, he moved from Austria (huh) in 1962 to Toronto originally, then on to Whistler BC. He was there just a year before coming to this area. He was a most interesting tour guide. He knew every kind of plant there was, and how they could be used for homeopathic treatment. He also knew what each animal ate, what their patterns were, etc. He took us on a 3 1/2 hour tour through some roads (?) that you could only access with a special use permit. The openness of the area was breathtaking.
Monday we are hiking and Tuesday we are taking a bike tour
Bee
Bee on Black Cone Flower down one of the highest peaks in the area. They will transport us up, we only have to bike down!! My kind of bike ride.
