Bit of a monster flight from Rarotonga - we touched down in Tahiti for an hour or so about 2am. Tried to buy a post card to send to Macie (Pauls Niece) but they only sold them in packs of 10 and we did not have any proper currency so it was all a bit much at that time in the morning. Finally got to LAX about 1pm and then the shuttle bus seemed to keep driving around all the terminals until it had enough passengers. I think we finally got to our hostel about 4pm and both were pretty tired out. We did not do much that evening apart from walk down Melrose Avenue, past all the posh clothes and antiques stores. We were looking for somewhere to eat but it all looked a lot ... read more

After waking up from another great nights rest at the Del, we had to decide what are plans are for the day. Looking out the window didn't seem to be freezing weather, but we didn't want to take any chances at Seaworld, so we decided to head to the Naval Ships here in San Diego, then on to Rosarito Beach Mexcio to spend a couple days with Ty's brother Thane, his wife Leslie, girls, Laney and Carley, before they head back to Colorado. First though, Jessica and Tanner laced up their roller blades and Ty hopped on our new bike to get some excersize blading and riding into town to check things out, while me, Lilly, and Emma pack up to leave. Aftering packing, me, Lilly, and Emma got in the minivan and headed to town ... read more

Seufer6: Destination--The San Diego Zoo After waking up from a relaxing night of rest at the Hotel Del Coronado, we opened the curtains to windy, overcast and cold weather. Before bed last night, we decided to go the Sea World, but after looking out our window, we thought at day at the San Diego Zoo would be a better choice. Anna, Jessica, and Tanner hit the beach first thing for a quick 1 1/2 mile brisk walk. Actually, Jessica jogged, while Tanner and Anna walked. We are still missing 2 bags from our flight, and Anna's tennis shoes are in one of them, so she flip flopped walked with Tanner. It was a great walk, with many fellow exercisers. We hooked up with Ty, Emma and Lilly at breakfast at the Del. Yummy! A buffet style ... read more

Hi all! Sorry about the lack of posting but once again there hasnt been much to write about! We've started work finally, albeit at Mammoth, and its been ok although we have unfortunetly been placed in different areas so unable to work together. Its pretty run of the mill stuff really, help people onto the lift and stop it when they fall off! I've just finished my seventh consecutive day of 7:30am - 5pm work and looking forward to my day off tomorrow so i can head back out onto the slopes as a guest. Nathan has been working as well but took the 31st and 1st off (lazy boi), although i think he again struggled to leave the house. Anyway just a quick post to let you all know things are well, will write up ... read more

So I leave for Denver, CO in a couple days. I am meeting up with Kevin and then we are driving down to Texas from there. Im excited to be going somewhere new to climb and to be going for so long which should be an amazing experience. I am really tired still from all the New Years hubbub so its hard to piece together sentences and make sense; sorry if its kind of jumbly and haphazard. At the same time, I am extremely aware of what I will be missing while I'm gone; I will be without my closest friends, my wife (who is actually going to be in Washington, D.C.) my job, and my boyfriend. Wierd, in that sentence I have both a wife and boyfriend...pretty swanky life I lead... Anywhoo, I think this ... read more

Los Angeles looks the prettiest when you’re leaving it. Wouldn’t you agree? I left today for Munich and then transfer to a plane to take me to Zurich. I took this photo from the plane just as we were leaving LA.... read more

The last time I was in San Francisco was on a females-only-family-trip almost 2 decades ago. It was Mom, Aunty Molly, Big Sister, Middle Sister and me - quelle nightmare - picture The Joy Luck Club on amphetamines :p Mom the Chanel-clad tour-Nazi totally in competition with her spinster banker sister Aunty Molly who lived in Canada which naturally made her the SF expert - both of them nostalgically waxing lyrical about their peeps in Chinatown; whilst the 3 of us just rolled our eyes wanting to head back south to Disneyland, Marilyn Monroe's prints at Mann's Chinese Theatre and Tex-Mex. Yeah - that was one for the family albums!!! :) This time we were spending Christmas with Almost Spouse's family - well actually just his Little Bro - who was spending 6 months learning aikido ... read more

Seufer6 Roadtrip: Destination-Hotel Del Coronado DUE TO MEXICAN INTERNET SERVICE THIS BLOG WAS LOST AT THE BORDER CROSSING FOR SOME 7 DAYS SORRY FOR ANY CONFUSION MUCHO GRACIAS After a fantastic flight from Denver, we landed at the San Diego airport at 9:30am. Jessica and Tanner did homework the whole flight!!! 72 degrees and perfect! Locating all 10 pieces of our luggage didn't seem to be a perfect feat. With 8 pieces of luggage, 4 kids and 4 heavy carry on bags, we hopped on a bus and headed to National Car Rental to pick out a minivan. A dark blue van with all the bells and whistles didn't want to accommodate all luggage and passengers, so we settled on the largest white dodge minivan with extra cargo space instead. Off in our minivan we went ... read more

Ready, set... I'm not sure if you can call it the perfect Christmas gift but it definitely scores high on the list in our house. I've given my wife a two-week trip to Slovenia. We aren't sure if we'll go in the spring or in the fall but either way, we have plenty of time to plan and anticipate. We're in the information gathering stage now so I'll be grateful for any tips or comments. We've traveled lots -- all over the world -- but for some reason, we're looking forward to this trip like no other! Can't wait! Kevin... read more

Happy New Year from San Fran After the amazing flight over the Hoover dam and Grand Canyon, we had a well earned rest before hitting the Wynne hotel to see La Reve (a cirque de soil production- one of several on the strip). This was a water show that would have sea world in awe. Around 80 performers danced, swam and performed acrobatics back into the purpose built swimming pool in the dome shaped amphitheatre. I must admit, even though it was impressive, it was a little too arty farty for my liking. But I was still happy to see a show on the strip and a well produced show at that. Even though we were all very tired from the early morning rise, I told the crew that one thing they had to experience before ... read more
