After an hour trip through San Francisco, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, and a very very winding road, we arrived at Muir Woods National Monument. On Jan. 9, 1908, President Theodore Roosevelt signed legislation establishing Muir
Woods National Monument. William and Elizabeth Kent had donated the woods
to save the trees, and asked that it be named after John Muir. We had a very nice liesurely walk for about an hour or so. We bought some trinkets in the gift shop and fed some bagel to a chipmunk before heading back to San Bruno to eat and then catch the Harry Potter movie.
